Update. They do have soy paper for $1 more you just have to ask. Hopefully they will add it to their online order as well as sides of spicy mayo and eel sauce. Got the salmon lover again with soy paper and added avocado on top again. 1000/10 phenomenal!
I gave the restaurant a 4.5 rating but had to choose between 4 or 5 stars, so I rounded up to 5 because the sushi was excellent.
After hearing great reviews and knowing the restaurant has been around for a while, I finally decided to try it. I usually go to Tsunami for Japanese food but it’s far away. They are over by Costco and I live in Valrico.
What I Ordered
Salmon Lovers ($22.99) - 10/10: I will order this often! My only wish is that they will offer soy paper, as I’m not a fan of nori. tsunami charges $2 for soy paper so it would generate more income for the restaurant. I gave the roll to my husband, who said it was delicious. Typically, I order a Japanese bagel with soy paper for $2 extra, plus crunchies and roe, costing about $10 each or $20 for two. The Salmon Lovers dish offers much 10x more fish and is a better value. My doctor recommended eating more fish like salmon and avocado, so I also ordered the Avocado Salad ($5.99) to top each sushi piece, and it was fantastic! I added a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce, drizzling a few drops on each piece. My only regret is not trying this place sooner!
Crab Rangoon - 8/10: These were fairly average but still enjoyable, and I’d order them again. They were exactly what you’d expect. I would have preferred some green onion for extra flavor, but that’s a personal preference, not a standard expectation. The sweet and sour sauce was good but so much. They should consider giving much less like in a smaller dipping cup. This would cause less waste and save the restaurant...
Read moreSuper happy to have stumbled by chance upon this place, only because our normal Chinese takeout go-to was going to close too soon for me to make a pick up.
They have really reasonable prices, and give you a ton of food for the money. Everything I had was delicious. Highly recommend the house fried rice. It included the plumpest, juiciest shrimp I think I have ever seen in a takeout fried rice dish anywhere.
My boyfriend's only complaint was that he had too much of his entree in comparison to the amount of white rice he received. Which if you really think about it, isn't a complaint at all, because it means that the entree portion size was THAT GENEROUS that the rice to entree ratio was off. Good problem to have if you ask me!
Thr folks running the establishment were friendly, everything looks clean and tidy, and the food was plentiful, delicious, and competitively priced. Highly recommend. We'll definitely...
Read moreReally poor customer experience. Ordered delivery that never arrived. Called to check on it as was told it was delivered. They refused to believe it wasn't and address issue, just kept telling me it was delivered and yelling at me. I yelled back, so it got heated. Actually put the driver on the phone who was yelling at me too! Poorly handled. NOT the way you treat customers. In the end, we ended up ordering pizza...which miracuously arrived! I WAS a long standing customer and they were basically telling me I was lying and would do nothing about it. Had been ordering from them every week or two for quite some time. Will NEVER do business with them again.
Update: Several days later, I received a refund, an apology via text and an offer for 50% off my next order. After that experience however, I...
