Online states open until 4. Show up at 2. Stood in line 40 mins in an over crowded tiny dining room to order.not once did anyone call out that they were out of anything. Finally get to order and they are put of ribs, hot links, brisket, keylime pie and bread pudding. Leaving only chicken, pulled pork and bologna. I ordered chicken but that left my husband without dinner. I come from the kc area and am always trying BBQ everywhere I go. For it being a saturday and labor day weekend you would think they would have put extra meat on the smoker than normal. Waiting in line for 40 mins to find out you drove all the way out here and they dont have what you want and they are put of over ½ the food they offer is ridiculous. They could have called out that they were out so we could have left the line and not waisted 40 mins waiting. I also waited another 15 mins for the manager to tell me since I switched he'd from eating in to carry out he would bring me my food to the back door because the other people in front of me would be angry if I got my food first so we agreed. He was nice enough to put was left of the brisket they had in with my chicken meal which we really appreciate. After trying the chicken and the brisket ends. They are both full of flavor the brisket more than the chicken as the flavor of the chicken is mostly in the outside. Im a firm believer that good smoked meat doesnt need sauce. The chicken needed sauce the brisket does not. Corn casserole is more cornbread than corn but oh so very good. The sauce is not too thick sweet but spicy after the sweetness leaving a lingering soft heat. The mac 'n cheese was extremely dry like noodles and a lot of cheese baked together. Overall the brisket and the friendliness of the manager earned this place...
Read moreWe ate here based on a recommendation from friends during a recent visit to the Branson area. We ordered and the weather was awesome so we sat at a larger table outside to enjoy some live music during dinner. We even met the owners during our visit and they took time to chat with us and ensure we were enjoying ourselves and the food was good. Our dining party of 6 collectively enjoyed ribs, pulled pork, brisket, the fried bologna sandwich (thickest slice of bologna I have ever seen served on a sandwich), slaw, mac & cheese, corn casserole and pit beans. I personally had the ribs and brisket and for the brisket they will ask if you want it chopped or sliced as well as if you want a piece with more fat (flavor). I opted for sliced with more fat option and it was excellent. Finally, our table opted for the Smores experience and enjoyed making Smores at our table--see the picture. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal and Smores for dessert. We took a bag of fresh pork rinds to go and enjoyed later that evening. One warning--when they are out of a meat, there aren't any magical reserves--you will have to choose something else or come back tomorrow. With that said, this is an excellent BBQ restaurant and I...
Read moreThese guys are real pitmasters! We love traveling and trying new bbq joints. We try to go to mom and pops restaurants more often, and this one was out of the park! Everything is made from scratch and from the talk i heard it sounds like a family runs it. It has become our new weekly dine, even though its an hour and a half away from us. (Trust me, it is worth the drive!) Growing up in the Midwest, bbq has always been our comfort food and go-to. You can imagine how many different bbq joints we've ate at. This is hands down the absolute best bbq we have ever had which says a lot considering my husband went to a well-known culinary school, and has ate meals prepared by multiple Michelin star chefs, 1 Iron Chef winner, and a Top Chef tv show winner. I will be telling all of my friends and family to try this place out from now on. They have earned the buisness of several regulars including us now. If you're a lover of bbq, this place needs to be on your bucket list!!! And if you're not the biggest fan of bbq, try this place and let it...
