Peking Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Braselton

My family and I order from here occasionally as it's the closest in town, it was my first time picking the actual order up and from the start the lady at the register wasn't friendly while taking my order over the phone. Upon entering, I expected a warm greeting and prompt service, but instead, I was met with indifference and a dismissive tone. I approached saying "Hi, I'm here to pick up an order" and got a nasty reply of "Okay?". I decided to brush that off. When I was reading over my order to make sure it was correct (given I had quite a few items) she rushed me into just reading my name and the total. When a man approached behind me to pick up his order suddenly she had a smile on her face. Once I paid, she directed her hand to the food like she was shooing away a child. While the food is okay, the service is just as important, and I left feeling frustrated and unwelcome and not with the urge to order from them again. When my wife and I moved to Jefferson Georgia, we were looking for a Chinese Restaurant. For over a year we went from one to another to another. We found several that we liked, but none that blew us away. One day on my way home I saw Peking. I was hungry for Chinese and had to stop. You know it when you find it and that day, my wife and I found it.

I have been here several times. The Almond chicken is top notch and that happens to be one of my favorite Chinese dishes. The crab rangoon is really good as well. However, the fried rice is terrible, the soups are mediocre and despite what other people have written, I would have to say the service is borderline rude at best. Never once have I even heard a thank you out of these people. They are very short and it comes across almost as rude. With no competition in the area I will still order from them every now and then. I was very disappointed when I learned they were not affiliated with the Peking in Dacula. Now that place is the BEST Chinese joint anywhere within 20 miles...
