So the funny thing is, a week ago this would have been 4-5 stars easily. We just moved to this area recently and decided to try this spot as it is right down the road and seems pretty popular.
The first 2-3 visits were great. Friendly staff, decent food (good honestly, but the chunky guac has a bit too much lime juice in it, tone that down a spot and your food will be perfect)
Then last night happened ... I ordered Burrito Fajita. I said to the water 3 times "No sour cream". Twice as I ordered. And when he repeated the order back to us (and did not say it) I repeated it once more.
My wife ordered Chimichangas.
When the food arrived my food had a huge pile of sour cream on it. The food runner dropped the food and scooted before I could even look down at my plate and notice.
I waited for a moment to see if I could find our waiter but he was nowhere to be found. My wife started on her food and instantly exclaimed "This is ice cold!". I leaned over and took a little fork full of her refried beans and they were ice cold. Not "warm" not even "slightly cool" they were like they had just been left sitting for hours without any heat.
So we both waited a bit. As we waited I slid my fork into my burrito to give a "is mine cold?" taste test. Mine was a little warmer than hers but still barely luke warm. I guess the real clue should have been that our plates were barely room temp and normally in these style restaurants the first thing you hear is "careful the plate is hot". They were not even warm so that should have been our first clue.
Nobody came by so I took some napkins (we had no spoon or anything) and wiped the pile of sour cream off my actual food into the little salsa bowl. And my wife just ate her chimichanga and skipped the rest of her cold food.
Taste wise, not going to deny the food is not bad for a little mexican joint. And the service is normally good.
But tonight was a complete disappointment...
Read moreThe food is good but it doesn’t make up for the service. It’s ridiculous how bad it is. I’ve been 5+ times thinking it was just an off day but it’s been every time we’ve gone. Always a rude/impatient/can’t be bothered server, slow to bring drinks, salsa/chips to the table (annoyed when we ask for more) etc, the usual slow stuff BUT this is what pushed it over the edge.
We ordered frozen margaritas that are expensive, like the most expensive in the area(compared to other restaurants) for no reason, and when they brought it out, mine was frozen and my girlfriends was thawed almost completely. When we asked for it to be remade, biggest inconvenience of this server’s life. The rest of the time she just had a nasty attitude. Just so unpleasant for spending as much money as we did. Not worth it. There are wayyy better Mexican restaurants in the area that we’ve had great experiences at, and are worth your hard earned money.
Other examples: Came in with friends for drinks at the bar and bartender took 20 minutes to get to us at a completely empty bar with like 2 tables in the restaurant, then they were moving the coolers, mopping, using cleaner and climbing all over the bar for their end of shift cleaning…. Before 8pm…. Really weird and awkward to ask for another drink when bartender is very clearly occupied and their hands a dirty as heck while making your drinks…. Yuk. Server rude, got irritated when we were taking too long to order and were asking questions about the menu. Came to our table less than 5 times the whole dinner… like ridiculous stuff. I get if it’s busy but it wasn’t at all.
Just always something that leaves us with an icky feeling. I know restaurants are sort on good servers but this is ridiculous. Don’t go. Pick another place near by, it’ll be...
Read moreThis is our first & last experience with this restaurant. When we arrived we were told there would be no wait. Once they found out we were a party of 8, we were told it would be 30-45 mins of a wait. While waiting, 2 parties of 6 and several other parties of 2 & 4 came and were seated immediately. About 25-30 mins into our wait, we overheard the hostess ask about where they were going to seat us and stated how long we had been waiting to another person who apparently had no idea. When they told us our table was ready, we were seated at two tables that had been empty since before we arrived. After ordering an appetizer, I went to the bathroom to find that the big stall toilet had no flush lever. Instead, it had a long wet string going through the toilet hole tank and into the toilet bowl water to use as a “flusher”. After washing my hands, there was no paper towels nor hand dryer. Once seated at the table again, the cheese dip arrived, only it was cold - not even warm. I ordered the chorizo sopes which to my dismay did not look like it did in the menu at all. It was completely soaked under a tower of veggies and sauce. I could not even pick up the sope as one would do traditionally and honestly I still couldn’t bring back an appetite thinking of that wet string - yuck! Only positive is that the waiter was nice and we were asked many times if everything was okay, but the overall experience was bad before we were even seated which pretty much was up to par with the meals. I cannot find any good reason for which I would want to come back. Oh and if the owner/management is reading this, please buy the $10 lever for the toilet for...
