One Saturday afternoon in September my husband and I decided to venture into a quaint Italian restaurant nestled near the historic part of Brea near old town, known as frantellion’s Italian Restaurant. The ambiance was immediately inviting, with soft lighting, rustic decor, and hand painted murals adorning the walls. The gentle hum of Italian conversation paired with the faint notes of a classic Italian ballad made the setting feel intimate and cozy. We were greeted with a warm smile by the owner Cesar and his son Gianni the hostess, who led us to a VIP table overlooking the entire restaurant. As I glanced over the menu, an array of authentic dishes beckoned me. We settled on the entree specials served with wine, perfectly toasted garlic bread, small salad or delicious minestrone and dessert. We had the handmade Chicken Parmigiana with creamy Pesto shells and the Shrimp and scallops Linguine. The anticipation grew as I took the first bite. The pasta was perfectly al dente, with the creamy alfredo pesto sauce melding in a symphony of flavors, perfectly complemented by breaded chicken parmigiana. Every bite was a delightful dance of textures and flavors, making it evident that each ingredient was chosen with care and love. To accompany the meal, the waitress Taylor suggested a glass of Rose and House Red wine , which perfectly accentuated the rich flavors of the Linguine and Pesto. For dessert, we indulged in cheesecake ice-cream with a delicate layering of creamy chunks of strawberries. It was a sweet ending to an exquisite meal. The entire experience was more than just a dinner; it was a journey through Italian culture and tradition. The genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and passion for authentic flavors made fratellino’s a memorable culinary adventure that I'll cherish for years to come. ---Aya

Fratellino’s Italian Restaurant was in Fullerton for 10 years before they relocated their business to Brea. They are well-known for their take-out Party Trays. I’ve passed this restaurant many times in the 15 years I’ve lived in Brea. It was our first time dining here. It’s very quaint and they do have an outdoor patio area. We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t that busy. They had the Dodgers game on the tvs, not something you would expect at a nice Italian restaurant. It was obvious that the staff were watching the game. The hand painted Italian countryside murals are a nice touch. Their complimentary appetizer is carrots, pepperoncini peppers and ranch. Not a favorite for the table. Typically for most Italian restaurants, they give fresh bread with roasted garlic or olive oil. The Garlic Bread, which comes with certain meals, was tasty. We tried: (For all pasta, they were perfectly al dente) Alfredo with angel hair pasta, bacon, and chicken - very creamy. Bacon could have crispier. Angel Hair with creamy pesto and shrimp - not as creamy. Seemed more like pesto than creamy pesto. Needed more flavor. Chicken Parmigiana - the marinara sauce didn’t have any hint of basil. Needed more flavor. Beef lasagna and Fettuccine Alfredo - lasagna wasn’t in a typical square slice or even a rectangular slice, where you can see the layers. Seemed like a small portion. Clam Sauce Over Linguine - classic Italian restaurant dish. I like the chopped clams in this dish. I guess it’s texture for me. It could have been a little bit more flavorful. Great customer service from Danny. For an authentic Italian restaurant, I expected more fresh, high-quality ingredients, fresh, homemade, or locally made bread and flavors more intense.

I cannot give this place anything more than a single star. We were sat down quickly... but that was it. We ordered food with our waiter and then began the longest wait... at least 40 minutes went by and the 9nly "appetizer" they gave us was carrots with ranch? where is the bread... my sister was able to change her baby and breastfeed the baby and still have plenty of time to chat before we got our food. When we finally DID get our food... It looked horrible. One of us got a single meatball in their meatball dish. and then it was just cold pasta and ketchup on top. my sister got pesto rottini and it was again, just cold pasta with pesto on top. The pictures do it justice. My mother got fettucine chicken alfredo and she said it was ok, but she did not finish it. Mine was the best: I got the eggplant parmigiana and since it was a dinner entree, i got minestrone soup and a side of penne pasta with it. the pasta was horrible. And then we did not see our waiter for the rest of our visit. There were PLENTY of waiters. Maybe 1 person for every 2 tables... but why did we not see any waiter come ask us if we wanted refill on our water or sodas? We actually had to get up and go to the front desk to ask for our check and leave because we were there for almost 2 hours... and only about 20 minutes of it was spent eating. Oh and we finally got the good bread (best part of our meal) with our food so i guess that was good. Also the interior was nice. But that's it. Olive Garden and Old Spaghetti Factory are better than this pathetic excuse for a restaurant.

Total letdown!!! We love the food and service but something was off today. We felt not wanted. I’m not being a baby, our waiter was not attentive at all. We felt invisible.

Anyway let’s get to what happened. I ordered the linguini with clam sauce but sadly I didn’t like it so I asked to get spaghetti with meatballs instead. While waiting for my spaghetti my wife finished her dinner and we talked for a good 15 to 20 minutes before we saw our waiter again which reminded him he had not served my food yet. By this time I’m pretty hungry and wondering what’s taking so long but it finally arrived. It was delicious. Our dinner came with a dessert (ice cream) but our waiter was nowhere to be found. I lost track of time and asked the nearest employee if we could see our waiter. Another lapse of time goes by before he finally shows up. We order our dessert, no complaint there, came out fast and delicious. He also left our check on the table. When I looked at it to pay he did not remove the linguini so my check was $17 more than it should be. We asked to speak to a manager, who came to assist in a timely manner fixed the error and brought out our new bill. The waiting begins again, finally another waiter, Bryan, came by we gave him our bill with our credit card. He was happy to help and told us our waiter was busy with a large party and apologized for us being ignored the whole time we were there. Sadly another waitress came back with our bill we paid it and left. This waitress seemed like we were a bother to her. I’ve never met her but she made us feel like we were being difficult. Very disappointing to have a place you’re willingly give your money to for good service make you feel like you’re not wanted.

We’ve been customers for catering our family gatherings and eaten at the restaurant and always felt very good and service was great. Something was off today and only Bryan seemed like he cared. At least he acknowledged we were ignored and offered to help. Great Job Bryan kudos to you. Keep up the good work.

I’m sure we’ll return but hope this doesn’t happen again. We’ll give the staff the benefit of a doubt that it was an off night. However, if we feel like we did tonight the next time will...

Absolutely horrendous service! I have ordered thru uber-eats 4 times and every time I have received an incomplete or wrong order. Every time I was told they (the restaurant) would make it up on the next delivery! I have absolutely had it with this restaurant! Tonight was the final straw, my order arrived missing our side soup. I called and asked for the soup to be sent as I was looking forward to it greatly! The manager Jaime refused to speak with me directly and instead instructed the hostess over the phone on how I needed to complain to uber as “we dont have delivery.” Uhhh yes you do....How is it Uber’s fault u failed to complete the order? On our second call The Hostess even told us “we didnt add the soup because we forgot to add it to the kitchen ticket”. Btw Uber Eats has 24 hrs to respond... after now our 3 phone call still wanting our item my wife is told “The restaurant cannot help her.” So let me get this straight...your customers did not receive their meal and you do not care on a $55 dollar ticket??

I called one more time pretty certain a manager of a restaurant would not tell a customer that. I was wrong, The manager jaime told me there was nothing he could do for me, never offering even to make me a soup I could pick up? Never offering a discount for additional services? Best part was he didnt even flinch at me saying I have received 4 incorrect orders??

Honestly do not come here even service aside, our meals have been forgettable and every-time we try something new and it is terrible, tonights spinach ravioli’s came stuck together and slimy, their sauce is a mixture of marinara and Alfredo that lacks freshness

Their shrimp and scallop lemon pasta was extremely fishy, the scallops extremely rubbery. Bathed in olive oil yet zero flavor

The sauteed mushrooms were absolutely disgusting, my wife and I had 3 a piece and threw the rest away.

I will make sure to tell everyone I know to avoid this place...
