Appalling customer service! My wife and I are in our 50s and have visited several times before. Comfort is good and there are usually adequate staffing levels. However, as Australians, but also legal US residents, we do not yet have CA identification. We bought a beer and a wine before going in to the movie. It was served and we both had a sip each. Then we were asked for our ID. We provided our Aussie driving licenses, which have been accepted EVERYWHERE else, and which details our DOB, photo, address, names etc. The Manager said she couldn't accept them, and would only accept a passport (although passports show less detail than our driving licenses). She could not understand the common sense of the situation and took our drinks away from us. Her actions cost her two drinks and our ongoing business. And she is the Manager! We were made to feel like naughty schoolchildren by this lady, and we are still very angry about this. We understand why rules are made, but common sense would tell her that there is nothing on our passports that isnt on our driving licenses! Just because her system cannot cope with something outside of the norm, she has lost her company a great deal. She really needs to go back to basic training in Customer Service skills. Never...
Read moreYour enjoyment at any theater likely is based on what movie, how long it's been out and what day/time. We went to see Jurassic World Rebirth, 1:45pm on 7/3, day after release. Parking was very easy and nearly as close to doors as you can get in parking structure. Maybe it's a timing thing, or a tactical sales thing, but tickets were sold at the concessions stand... how convenient to spend more money. We weren't planning on having concessions, as we had free tickets and we're looking for a cheap date! However, we had to wait in line to secure assigned seating, so we ended up giving in to temptation and grabbing a single meal (large popcorn, large drink and candy) at $32 (one free refill on popcorn/drink). Tickets appear to cost $35, so I can't give any theater five stars when it's nearly double owning a movie in 4k watching and pausing when you want. I do absolutely love the stadium seating and recliner chairs, they were very comfy and every seat has a good view. They should also cut back on trailers/commercials before screening, 30 minutes is twice too long. Overall we had a great time and highly recommend the Brea East, especially for the before/after choices of other entertainment/eating in...
Read moreThis is my favorite theater. It's been the theater if my childhood, and I literally remember when I was 8 and I watched Avatar for the first time, as like the first BIG movie I've seen in theaters. I have since then always gotten cookie dough bites as my movie snack, as well as water. You walk in, the place is huge, like 40 feet tall, they have bathrooms on the second floor, and the neon is excellent. You pay for your ticket, get your snacks, and find your auditorium, then your seats. And you be quiet. I've seen green lantern, the dark Knight rises, the force awakens, tenet, Oppenheimer, top gun Maverick, licorice pizza, the last Jedi, the rise of Skywalker, and recently indiana Jones and the dial of destiny, and many more. The seats are the best in any theater that I've ever been In, and the sound is as good as imax. I highly recommend the cookie dough bites, or buncha crunch, red vines, or Cheetos popcorn. I will always go to my favorite movie theater whenever a good movie is made. 10/10. P.s. DONT WATCH MOVIE TRAILERS, IT IMPROVES THE...
