I want to say that, yes the owner made good after talking to me personally on the phone, and yet... I am changing my review, but not completly..
And here is why.
I talked to the owner and she said ok she would put my name down for my food. No problem right? Well, as original post stated I had 3 double cheese and a cheese fries.... Cold fries and the burgers made wrong...
So I said I just want my two burgers, so she said ok
I went there two nights ago to get them replaced, and WAITED AFTER I PARKED AND WENT IN TO ORDER IT BECAUSE THE DRIVE THRUS WERE PACKED! and I was the last one to be served my food....
Yes they replaced my cheese fries as well because I had to stand there so long, but....
I'm thinking wasn't even worth the hassle!?!
The first 45 minute trip to get the food, originally!
The second trip by me where I made my original review about them having me sit 45 more minutes through the drive thru just to tell me there was nothing she could do but take my number...
Then I go back after I talked to the owner for about 15 minutes on the phone, got an agreement to replace it, and then went and had to stand at least another 20 minutes to have it remade!?
Maybe I just don't understand!
Or maybe I'm just old and crabby, but I like my food that I pay good money for to be...
Read moreI’ve never before felt like I was having a stroke by just looking at a menu, yet here I am saying that is exactly how I felt when I looked at Dairy Kings menu. It’s not your typical fast food drive thru. It’s a jumble of garbled mess that they expect you to sort out before you can order your meal. Oh, and beware! If you take too long, they may begin getting cross with you.
I definitely spent less money there than I would have otherwise because I felt rushed to order even though I had no idea what I was looking at. Of course, they don’t have it organized into easy-to-read meals. Instead, they expect you to pay separately for a main dish, a side, a drink, and dessert.
By the time I had overcome the cranial hemorrhage that the gobbledygook of a menu inflicted upon me, I decided to just randomly pick the cheapest items I could find in order to ease my pain and fill my stomach. Let me tell you something. The food was ok. Not great. Just ok. The prices were horrendous!
Unless you are stranded with no mode of transportation and have no other options, I’d say steer clear unless you are looking for a medical emergency without any positive side effects. There is nothing special about this place other than the penguin with a crown and the small town, red neck, back wood “howdy friend” ringing...
Read moreThere's no doubt in my mind that DK is a staple of the community, here in Breese, IL. However, I cannot rate this higher than a 3 for 2 reasons. The lack of efficiency in the drive thru setup absolutely needs to be addressed. It wastes tons of real estate that could be better utilized. In my opinion, that's worth 2 stars alone, but for a burger-shack style meal it's still worth the wait most of the time. The second reason is other side of the aforementioned "most of the time". Sometimes the children training children is aspect is a bit too obvious for my taste. I would say a good ⅓ of my orders are incorrect, which is really only worth a half star in my book, as I will eat anything so long as it's good. And I'm happy to see so many of the community's youth learning the value of the dollar and contributing to society and all that, but it's good to learn how to make and spend money, but I feel that lessons involving professionally representing the establishment that has helped the community in so many ways, is a little lax. All in all, great place to grab a bite if you have the time. Sorry for...
