My wife and I went to the Commander with another couple for breakfast last Saturday. First off the server wasn't very friendly, but I can get over that and will always try to make them laugh. We all ordered skillets with my wife ordering her veggie skillet with hash browns instead of American fries. When our food arrived, hers didn't have the hash browns, so we asked to have it remade. The server didn't seem too thrilled about this and responded that it will take awhile to have it remade, but we insisted on it. By the time her new skillet arrived the rest of us were almost done with ours. This time she was delivered a skillet with everything in it, including ham and sausage....which she was trying to avoid. We AGAIN reordered the skillet, but his time to go. We finally go the right skillet and were curious if we'd be charged for it and in fact we were. The bartender/manager comp'd her tea. I approached the bartender and explained that it was the third time around before it was correct and that she wasn't even able to enjoy it with the rest of our table. I didn't think we should be charged for her plate, but her response was, "she is taking it home to eat, right"? Not real happy with how this was handled. Though I will say, our server did warm up to us towards the end and was sympathetic.

We have been going to the Commander for years and can't say we will never go back, but this experience did leave a lot...

We came in as a group of 10 to have some beers and they had a band going, we were there for 1hr plus and everyone of us we’re having decent time none of us were piss drunk or Being obnoxious, service to us was mediocre and beers were not cheap! 5$ a bottle and 5$ for tap?! was about 12:30-1 am and our sober cab my (girlfriend) was never asked for anything while she was there not even water and then we decided to go play some pool so she went up to change 2 dollars for quarters and the guy at bar was like I need your ID and she was like to change for quarters?! And she had lost it prior and didn’t have it on her she had her expired one with that has her date of birth and guy wouldn’t except that made a huge ordeal following her telling her she has to leave ASAP and she was trying to gather us 10 people! And he kept following her and watching telling her to leave and she told him I will! but I’m sober cab so I have to get everyone! So they lost 10 people because they kicked out our sober cab and probably all 10 of us won’t return. Wasn’t a good ending to our night wasn’t none of use were impressed at all and at end of everything on top of it they messed up on my girlfriends moms tab they only got couple drinks each and somehow came to 92$ but we were rushed out of there so she didnt...

We attempted to go to the commador bar while on a work trip. We called about 2 hours in advance to make a reservation in the case that it was a busy night. The staff that answered the phone was very friendly and helpful. However, when we arrived it was a different story. We arrived a little early and the bartender redirectected us to the host because we let him know that we had a reservation. When we talked to the host he insisted that we had no reservation despite the note pad that was directly below his ipad having our reservation written directly on it. His response was very rude when we let him know that our reservation was written on the note pad, "yes, I can read but that's just a random piece of paper" and again after we insisted that it was our reservation "thank you ma'am, I can read but you do not have one in my system on my ipad." I must note that it was clearly not busy as there were fewer tables with customers than there were tables open. For a host to have such a rude response within 1 min of speaking to customers was very unprofessional and I will not be recommending...

I had a FRICKIN blast! There was live music and it was actually GOOD! People were out dancing and having a GREAT time! There were plenty people to talk to and I didn’t meet one person who didn’t smile back and engage in conversation if I initiated it. I had a taco salad and it was a hit! I enjoyed it very much and I would go back and eat again for sure, staff was incredibly attentive and upbeat, quick on their feet and very helpful to our group. The bar itself is spacious enough to have small groups of people standing and chatting without it stopping others from walking around. Nice place, really. I have been there twice now and both times I had a great time with my friends I accompanied as a designated driver… hope this describes to you the commander and jj’s without laying it on too thick

I had a great time seeing Bluehound there, and enjoyed the food. I drove a long trip there specifically to see the band. I was sad to see the sign on arrival advertising a different band, but upon entry I was relieved to see Bluehound set up to play. I don't think the Commander did very much to promote the show, as the crowd was very, very small. The music was fantastic, and I will be back again if they return, hopefully to a bigger crowd. They definitely bring talent to the stage!

We had a flat tire so we pulled in here (barely). We had a 13 year old with us and we grabbed a bite to eat while we waited for AAA. Once 10 pm hit the bartender rudely told us we had 30 minutes to leave or pay for a room. I understand the law but it’s not very “MN nice” to kick a family in distress out to the cold, and any decent officer would understand. On the up side the food was good and our server was nice. 16F outside.
