Our reservations were screwed up at a different place (not a Breezy Point hotel) and we were left with taking whatever was available for one night.I called the Leisure Suites and was told there was one twin room available in the Pequot Motel. Thought, sure, why not? It's operated/maintained by Breezy, it shouldn't be that bad. Well, when we first arrived, the outward appearance was nice of the motel. Upon entering the main hallway we were greated with stale smoke. Not a good sign. Our room was located on the second level (room 912) non smoking (which is right next to a smoking). As we opened our room it smelled ok. Old but ok. The carpet was absolutely hidious and disgusting. It is similar to a shag but not as long but definetely old. Keep in mind I was traveling with my 2 kids who have only seen HolidY Inn type rooms. And I should also clarify we're not used to 5 star lodging. The beds were all saggy in the middle. We checked for bugs on the matresses & it was ok bit there are stains on the box spring. I didn't dare pull the top sheet off to see the top. No A/C. (Heat only). Say what? Light bulb burnt out on the main light. Bathroom more updated and not too bad except for the few black hairs in the tub (gross!). Water pressure in the shower was not good. (I could probably spray water out of my mouth harder). But it did the job. The 2 chairs for the corner desk were stained. I did call the front desk to see of there was any other room available we could upgrade to. There wasn't. So with sleeping with the window open (b/c no air) we heard cars zooming by all night and the bar crowd at the Commander (across the street). The window was new and nice ;-) On the positive side, we were able to use all the amenities of Breezy. The lot was full and from what I could tell from walking by the other rooms on the outside is they looked better. I'm not a picky person and I get we only paid $75 for the night but this room needs new carpet and some new clean beds. I can overlook the 70's furniture. I would not stay here again. Maybe other rooms aren't this bad and we were just "lucky". ||||Ps. I apologize for typing/spelling errors. I'm typing from my phone in room 912 while...
Read moreWe checked in for our 4 night stay at the Pelican Motel. The lady at the desk was pleasant. We get to our room only to find out that there is no air conditioning. We went back to visit the lady at the desk - not much help. No air conditioning for 4 days when the temp is in the mid to upper 80's. Not fun. We were barely there 1 hour when 3 employees walked in on us (without knocking) supposedly to deliver an ozone machine which we never asked for. ||||We took a shower the next morning and when we get back to the room later that day they had taken our dirty towels, but didn't leave us any clean ones. They did leave us a roll-away bed in the middle of the room which we never asked for. We went to visit the lady at the front desk and luckily she found us a couple of clean towels. ||||After 4 days of no air, no towels and very little service I asked if I could speak to the manager. I was given the ladies name and after more than a half a dozen calls to her with no response I asked for her bosses name. I have now had at least 3 conversations with her which has done absolutely nothing. We asked to possibly be reimbursed for a part of our stay and to date have been told they would refund a portion of our stay but nothing has been done. It is now been 18 days since we checked out and nothing has been done. Still waiting ...||||We were there for a family reunion and had a number of family staying in other places and they loved it. Needless to say this wasn't our best experience and I would not recommend this place to...
Read moreHello,||My sons and I stayed in one of the lake front condos for one night. The room was a 1 bedroom, queen with a sofa sleeper in the living room. We were in the area for a mountain bike race that my son was competing in, and needless to say, a good night's rest was critical! When I went to make up the sofa sleeper for him to sleep on, I unfolded the bed to find that the mattress was wet. And not damp....wet. I immediately called the front desk, and they indicated that maintenance would come "look at it." Maintenance took so long to come to the room that I ended up sending my son to bed in the bedroom with plans for my other son and I to sleep on the sleeper sofa (assuming that maintenance would be bringing a replacement mattress). Maintenance arrived without a replacement mattress...felt the bed and said, "yep, it's wet!" No solution was offered. When I asked for a solution, they had nothing. ||||I ended up folding the couch back up and having my other son sleep on that while I slept on the floor. I just try not to think about what else was on the couch or floor considering the state that the mattress was in.....||||Also, the son who slept in the actual bed said it was the most uncomfortable bed he had ever slept in (and he has slept on many sofa sleepers). So I guess I'm not optimistic that even the sleeper sofa would've been much better than the floor anyway.||||The view was great. ||||The pool areas where so chlorinated that we all felt our lungs burning after 5 minutes.||||Facilities were...
