Pelican Lake Fish House Rentals and Guide Service (Breezy Point MN) — Local services in Breezy Point

My husband and I stayed at Breezy Point Resort in early September. The day after we arrived, we did a morning 4-hour guided-fishing trip with Joe in his 19-foot Ranger. He met us by boat at the resort marina, very convenient. We caught a good number of fish—mainly walleyes and small mouth bass.

Such a great time…. we decided to go again. :)

Our next trip later in the week was for evening fishing on the pontoon (with bonfire). It was a blast! - like a combo sunset cruise/fishing trip, lol. Almost immediately after we started trolling, my husband caught a 28-inch walleye! We threw that one back (after taking pics, of course), then we both caught some nice-sized walleye for eating.

I really appreciate when my husband and I can spend our time actually fishing. On our own, it seems like so many details eat up minutes, like tying lines, driving the boat, reading maps of the lake, figuring out the best spots to try, etc. We have our own fishing equipment, but it’s convenient when you’re out of town, fishing somewhere you don’t know, to do guided fishing. Besides that, it lets you easily get out on the lake if you don’t have your own boat. Joe provides everything you need—all the gear, lures and bait, so you don’t need to bring anything (except maybe sunscreen and snacks).

Joe’s a really nice, friendly guy who’s easy to talk to. He knows Pelican Lake well. He shared with us about how he grew up on the lake and learned from his dad, who was also a fishing guide. You couldn’t ask for anything more in a guide, both trips were great experiences.

We had a great trip with Joe on Pelican Lake this week, the best guide trip we've ever had! Joe had a couple boat choices available to us, and was able to accommodate a kids friendly trip with G'ma & G'pa along with for the ride as well.

We were after Walleye's, but they did prove to be elusive this morning. Not of much concern however as our oldest caught her first Rock Bass, and our youngest caught some Northern's. We had a ton of action and it was exciting with probably around 11-12 Northern's!! My Wife even reeled in a lunker, it was very large and a strong fight!

Joe knew the lake bottom structure extremely well, and the best places to target the fish at certain times of the morning. It was a great time on a perfect weather day, thanks...

Joe provided an excellent first-time fishing experience for our son. He took us on his comfortable new boat, explained all the techniques and technology, and used his decades of experience of daily fishing on the lake to help us catch about 20 walleyes and large-mouth bass between the two of us. Although we opted for catch-and-release, Joe was prepared to help us clean and take our best catches of the day home for dinner if we had wanted to. Joe was always friendly and patient, and he is clearly passionate about fishing and sharing the joys and challenges of fishing with others. We asked our son how many stars we should give Joe, and he wished we could give him 500 out of 5. :) We would definitely fish...
