First: NOT SAME BURGERS AS GREEN BAY STORHEIM’S!
All the beta answers are how I personally experienced it. I had to add a star because for me to leave the rating at a 3 overall would be unfair. My taste has seemingly been irreparably harmed so I can’t subjectively taste food. Honestly, I would’ve given it 1star for taste, but I worried people would see 1 star without reading so I couldn’t because I rate most burgers a 1 nowadays. Everything combined made me unable to give it 5 stars, however.
Girls could’ve appeared to do more behind counter than sit around, chat & giggle. Maybe box up to go orders, make sure orders are right (mine was not correct….and I lost $$ on it. Can’t drive back. Will call tomorrow)……something. They inaccurately quoted me my wait time so they weren’t paying attention. I was actually in a rush so if I’d known it’d be closer to 30 minutes than the 10 they’d quoted I wouldn’t have ordered. If it’d been anything over 10 I wouldn’t have, my ride hadn’t wanted to wait at all.
Atmosphere was cute enough. I wouldn’t have paid the amount I did for the hamburger unless this was like the Green Bay Storheim’s, which it was not. The reason why is because it wasn’t a big juicy burger or anything, it tasted and looked like stored pressed and bought frozen Pattie’s. The bun didn’t fit the burger. Bun was too small. I’m very picky about having bun with every bite. They forgot my bacon & mustard but added onions I didn’t ask for. I’d also asked for extra ketchup, there was only a tiny bit in the middle of the bun. Maybe it was the cooks, maybe the counter girls (order takers, young high school girls) I’m not sure. It’s fine. I couldn’t eat it anyway.
Plus: fries were excellent! Fish looked AMAZING! The breading looked possibly hand breaded and the locals say they buy the perch fresh so maybe it is! I would try it-it looked excellent & was highly...
Read moreThe chicken was absolutely delicious with large portions. The service was mostly ok. We were given the check without being asked if we wanted dessert first. Once we were given the check, nobody came back to collect the payment, leaving us to wonder where we were supposed to pay. Then on a $76.25 bill, if I would pay using a card they were going to charge me an additional $22 and change without it being stated anywhere. For context, 2 of the meals that we ordered didn't even add up to $22. When asked what the "service charge" was for the server responded that it was her boss's doing. She seemed overwhelmed and irritated that customers were calling on the phone as well. There was only 1 additional party (a 2 top) in the restaurant at this time. This was not our initial server OR the person who ran our food and bill out to us. When I asked if I paid cash if the service charge no longer applied, she said yes and then could not find a calculator to calculate the change from a $100 bill. Even asked if I had a phone (which I did). She stated that the service charge was because they use square to take card payments. I simply explained that where I live (WA state) that I have never had my bill go up by $22 because I chose to use card with square. I also explained that even though the food was excellent and the servers were mostly nice, I would not be back due to the false advertisement of prices and charges. I will also add that the server did not allow me to take my receipt with me as she needed it for 'proof' that I paid with cash. The food was amazing, but my family will not be back and most of my family are locals here. The false advertisement is atrocious and her behavior/attitude when overwhelmed during what appears to be a slow period was...
Read moreMy Mom talked fondly of Storheim's when they had a restaurant opened in Green Bay, WI a long time ago that I believed for a long time that it no longer existed! It's too bad they don't have a restaurant open in Green Bay still since it's talked about all the time from locals here. If anything Storheim's is part of Green Bay lore!
While on a trip up to Iron Mountain to get some legal weed because it's illegal in Wisco, I seen the restaurant off of the road and acknowledged to my friend how surprised I was to see this place. After our trip to the dispensary, we had dinner here and the burgers taste as good as my Mom described them. It certainly beats most local restaurants in Green Bay from how good the burger patties themselves taste in tandem from what I got. The fries were fresh not only from the crispness of them, but the taste was fantastic too!
I even seen that acknowledgement of their Wisconsin presence since jams from Al Johnson's of Sister Bay, Door County, WI is also sold here in their pie display! I can't knock this place at all given it's part of Green Bay lore and that the burgers are fantastic. So far, I'm the only child of my Mom's to have gotten the chance to enjoy Storheim's and will force my friends doing dispensary runs to eat here! This restaurant is a major part of Green Bay's food history and will continue it's legacy. Maybe someday they could open restaurants in Green Bay, WI because of its cult following.
Also, how do I tell my friends which pickles are better? I got a friend asking me if I had the crinkle cut...
