Oliver's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Bremen Township

This gem is in my neighborhood. When I first discovered it, I was so pleased! Great atmosphere, great food options, great drink, cold beer, and good hospitality! I had found myself sharing this place with my neighbors and going at least once a week. Eventually, I had to slow down due to Covid and also they had started doing some remodeling. However, they were still open but my money had gotten funny. Today, I went here after a long day of work for a burger and beer and my coworker accompanied me. Being that I had bragged on the place so much. Well we were very slow to get serviced. A waitress walked passed us 5 times and said someone will be helping us soon. Well they did not help us until 35 minutes later. When she finally took our order it took another 35 minutes to receive it and it was wrong and my coworker sent hers back and cancelled her order all together. We ended up sharing my burger. When it was time to pay our bill, we could not find our waitress! We had to get up and look around the restaurant for her. Mind you, she never checked on us, or give us any utensils, or napkins! Heard the wings were good so decided to try the place with a group of 4 couples last weekend. We were told up front that they would not do separate checks and a tip would automatically be added. Our waitress kept disappearing, but there were 3 of them catering to a party at the table next to us. It took 45 minutes for our food order to be taken and another 35 minutes for our food to be served (came out in waves - some of us were done eating before the last person got her order). The food itself was good, other than the salads which were sitting in water. We had to track our waitress down one last time to ask for our bill, as we just wanted to leave since we were there for 2 hours at this point, and the bill indicated the tip added on was 20%. This high of an added tip was annoying as we were not able to express our unhappiness at the lack of service. We then caught that the tip amount was actually 37.8% of the bill. The waitress corrected it when it was brought to her attention ("I don't know where that amount came from.") but then she calculated the 20% on the after tax amount. Went with family for dinner and ate on patio. Like many places nowadays they seem to be having staffing shortage issues. They never asked us if we wanted anything to drink and just provided us with water which I thought was odd. The food I had I thought was pretty meager for the price. I ordered a ribeye sandwich with mozzarella sticks for a side. I thought two mozzarella sticks as a side was a pretty minimal side dish. And the ribeye sandwich was lacking in flavor and substance. It was the thinnest slice of ribeye that I've ever had and completely overdone. The sandwich was literally a piece of bread with an overcooked piece of meat and two onion rings on it. That was it. Definitely an unsatisfying meal and I would not come back to this restaurant after this. I thought I would order a dessert at least to make up for the lack of substance in the entree but unfortunately they only offer one dessert and it was not anything that sounded appealing to me.
