Overall had a mediocre experience here for dinner. Truthfully all the food was fine except for one big thing.
I had ordered the Meatloaf entree and when it arrived the gravy was cold, it was congealed and cold to the touch. When I told the waitress about it, she said she would go get more. She came back about 5-6 minutes later with a bowl of hot gravy. That didn't solve the problem because my meal is still covered in cold gravy... I had to try and scrape off the cold gravy off of my plate and meatloaf and then replace with the hot gravy. I've managed multiple different food establishments before and what should have been doing is they should have taken the whole plate back and remade it, or at least brought out new meatloaf with hot gravy on it. Expecting a customer to have to scrape off the cold gravy that already made the meatloaf itself luke warm is not ideal customer service.
We've been before for breakfast and enjoyed it, and everyone else had enjoyed their dinner, but I think that that waitress needs to rethink how to address such an issue. It seemed more like an, "oh, oops" and brushing it off than a "we are so sorry we will fix this" for you. Even after bringing the other gravy she never came by to see if things were better this time around and it almost seemed as if her customer service turned off once I had complained.
UPDATE : 11/2018 The family and I went again to try their weekend breakfast brunch buffet.
One of us asked if we were allowed to go back, the waitress informed us that it was actually only a one pass type of thing, that would have been very important information to inform us upon first arriving. Now, I know that the term buffet technically does not mean "all you can eat" however, truthfully I don't know if I've ever gone to a buffet where it wasn't. Whether or not it's a common misconception, I think that the average expectation is that it's a multiple plate situation. And for me personally, half of my plate was fruit for my 1 year old daughter. So it was very disappointing to hear afterwards that it was a one time thing. The waitress could tell our confusion and added a "Since you didn't know you can go ahead and go once more this time". Which was very nice of her, however, it felt awkward, and uncomfortable to even proceed since we weren't supposed to. We weren't going to until we noticed that another table had gone back as well to get more without even thinking about it, so I went back and I proceeded to get one more biscuit and a scoop of eggs.
I had checked beforehand and messaged ahead asking if they charged for my young daughter, they informed me that they wouldn't. When we received the bill however we had received one for 5.99 for our one year old who ate literally a small amount of eggs and mostly just some fruit. I went out to the car to get my phone to show them the message but my mother in law had mentioned it to the waitress and she was told "Oh, all you had to do was mention that and we won't charge you", which seemed weird anyway since if I hadn't have said anything my mother in law would have just paid blindly.
Overall it was a disappointment, the food was actually very enjoyable. The biscuits and gravy had a lot of flavor, everything was nicely seasoned, only thing that really lacked was the quiche, they tasted overcooked and dry. But overall the food was great, again, it could be warmer, but that seems to be the McCloud's way of lukewarm dishes. The biggest complaint though is if you are going to charge what every other all you can eat breakfast buffet charges $14.99 , make it all you can eat instead of a once through type of situation, also, INCLUDE the drinks. Most buffets include their drinks and so when you factor in the drinks on top of the buffet price it was more like $17.00 per person, for a once through thing. They either need to reduce the price down to about $10.00 per person, and inform every person when seating them that it's not all you can eat, or just give in like all the other restaurants in Kitsap and make it all...
Read moreHorrible place. I've heard about Mcclouds and a couple of my friends that we would check it out. I went here for the first time on Friday and it will surely be my last. My friend had been drinking, but was not belligerent or out of control in any sense and as we were waiting for our drinks, a bouncer comes up to her and puts an 'x' on her hand. well, ok, that sucks, but that's fine.
As a group of my friends and I were standing in the corner one of my other friends gives her a drink. For some reason the rude bouncers thought it was me who gave her the drink and kicked me and my friend who was 'x'ed out. This was especially annoying since I honestly did not give her the drink. Again, that sucks, but that's fine.
As I was walking toward the door, the bouncer made such a horrible and EXTREMELY inappropriate comment to me that was so uncalled for and had nothing to do with the situation.. honestly too horrible for me to even write it on here. I was so upset about the comment I went into the restaurant in the afternoon the next day to talk to the business owner after being told on the phone he would be there all day. (I probably shouldn't have told this person I wanted to talk about an incident that happened the prior night that I was upset about). I show up and was told I missed him to Cash and Carry, but that he should be back in 30. I waited there for probably an hour. I go back in, nothing. She calls him and he says he will be back at 3:30. I ran a couple errands and decided to give the restaurant a call to make sure the owner, Andy was in before I trekked out the Mcclouds. Surprise, surprise! Apparently I missed him again. The employee asks for my name and number with a promise that he will call back…. nothing. It was very apparent that he knew I was unhappy about a situation that was related to his establishment and pretty much gave me the run around. Thanks, guy.
I will NEVER go to this place again or recommend it. The business owner should really reassess his employees and get a handle on how his employees are talking to paying customers AND he should really act like he wants to better his business instead of...
Read moreUPDATE: Lowering to 2 stars. Am finding ridiculously drunk people are allowed to harass, fall into line dancers who think they're a riot, and allowed to be aggressive toward other patrons. Even SECURITY cuts across the dance floor constantly like its their own personal path to the patio area, which is SO distracting and beyond RUDE. Watched a group of 5 ridiculously plastered people, with one getting VERY handsy with line dancers. Security would warn them after complaints and 10 seconds later it would happen again, over and over and over. They DON'T kick them out because they're spending money. This ruined everyone's evening. I'm now beginning to understand how McClouds has earned its less than stellar "reputation". Some of us are saying we're done.
Repeat customers that order dinner, but keep the drinks to a reasonable level and conduct ourselves in a responsible manner apparently isn't what they're looking for. For being a "family style establishment" I would not bring my family here after the numerous times the drunks are so beyond obnoxious and security using the dance floor as their own personal pathway.
Have been to numerous country bars. This is NOT a user friendly" establishment. When someone gets hurt it's going to get interesting on numerous levels.
LINE DANCE THUR'S!! Excellent line dance instructor (well done Emily!) + superb DJ and sound volume (didn't hurt your ears, yeah!). Our line dance group from N. Kitsap loved this. Group of 8 would definitely make this a permanent weekly date, if it was offered 1.5 - 2 hours EARLIER (starts at 8:45p, even though it says 8p on website and FB), as most of us work or have kids to contend with early in the morning. Food was outstanding, and...
