I decided to come back home via US Hwy 29 from Pensacola today on the advice of a friend. On the way, I got hungry and asked Google about any good pizza places along my route. It suggested Burnham Pizza Company, so away I went.
I got there and had a tough time figuring out where to park as Google had led me to the front door. A nickel's worth of free advice: park around back! There is plenty back there!
Finally, I made it to the door and was immediately enthralled by the outside patio and stairway. I couldn't wait to see what the inside looked like and how the pizza tasted.
I went in and was told to sit wherever I wanted. I chose a seat near the door and found the menu on the table. My server, Reese, told me the only size they had at that point of the day was 16". So I ordered the 16" pepperoni with extra sauce. Big shocker, huh? I also ordered a Diet Dr. Pepper.
Just kidding, I got a sweet tea, like always. They do serve Pepsi products, however.
So after a short wait, Reese brought me my pie. The first thing that came to mind was that the crust was BIG! Like, fluffy big! She had also brought me a cup of marinara sauce, which I used to dip the crust in. It was so light and delicate! I was pleasantly surprised and ate the crust of all 3 pieces that was able to devour. The sauce on the pizza was great tasting, although it didn't appear to be the extra I had ordered.
Overall, however, the experience was very, very good and I hope to visit...
Read moreIf you dine inside: Be prepared to wait 60+ min to be served food and without tvs to watch (they were off). We ordered loaded fries because no more wings left and thinking we would get them before the pizza as an appetizer (knowing there would be a wait for the pizza), but we had to ask about them after 40 min of waiting and she said they take a while to bake, but when we got the fries the cheese wasn't melted all the way on them. So I assume us asking about them reminded them and they rushed the fries out to the table before the cheese was even melted on them. Shortly after this the pizza came so it wasn't at all an appetizer. They also put priority of their party upstairs over anyone dining downstairs it seemed. The cheeseburger pizza was good but I highly recommend adding more pickles for it to taste like a burger. Two pizzas and one loaded fries without any alcohol was $77. Seems very steep in price for...
Read moreI am absolutely appalled by this business’s behavior. On Facebook, they commented under a young man’s Reel — a man with a disability who was simply singing a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne — and chose to make fun of him. Not only is this cruel and disrespectful, but they did it under the official business page.
Whether it was intentional or an employee accidentally thought they were using a personal account, the fact remains: this reflects extremely poorly on the company’s character and values, especially coming from ownership. It’s one thing to not like someone’s content, but it’s another to publicly mock a person with a disability. Completely unacceptable. Let the young man have fun, it takes courage to put yourself out there, and discouraging others is exactly what this world needs.
Own up to your mistakes, apologize to the young man and I will gladly fix...
