Inconsistent food quality, over-priced for items, service varies by server

We have tried Chrissy's 4 times hoping to find another local option which Berwick has a limited number to choose from. What we have found is the food quality has been inconsistent at best and the service depends on who happens to get your table. One time I ordered their special and after the order was taken, the server came back to say they were out of it. Switched the order to a tuna sandwich and what showed up were two lightly toasted slices of white bread with a lump of tuna salad in the middle. No lettuce, no tomato, not spread out. I had to go to the register to ask for lettuce as the server was no where to be found. Paying later, the person at the register could not care less about telling her what happened. Well, we opted to give them one more chance and this time I ordered a burger but asked if it came with lettuce. She assured me it did and asked if I wanted a slice of onion and tomato. Sure . . . and when the bill came, they added $1,50 for a piece of lettuce, the onion and tomato . . . on a $9.50 burger??? The food is average at best, the decor is spartan, food is served with no garnish or anything on the plate and then you get charged extra for basic condiments on a burger . . . other places in town like the Forge, Bandits, Morris's and others. We gave Chrissy's multiple tries and came up short each time . . . 4 times is our limit! The real said part is that the wait staff and register person really could not care less when comments are provided. Too bad, could have filled a niche in...

See Update Below! This is the Mays Diner under new name/owners. Food was good, two wait staff one appeared to be very efficient they had 3-4 tables at any one point...my waitress had one other table and me and well not so great....she did have a table that was finishing up when I came in....I had to ask for silverware after my food was brought, waited for over ten minutes to receive menu (waited while she took the other tables order and she handed me the menu from that table then stood there while I opened the menu...upon me looking up at her she said " oh do you need a minute".... I'm guessing she wanted to put both orders in at the same time...will return but will avoid that waitress.... UPDATE: Gave another try... service much much better....food still good..the male waiter is much more skilled...there was a younger waitress from what I was hearing and seeing may require a little training or maybe was just new but she did appear more efficient than the first waitress I had first time visiting....we will see how it goes....I will try again....maybe for...

Server took forever to get our order,it was not busy. I had to get her attention. I ordered a blueberry pancake and 2 sausage links,my granddaughter ordered eggs, sausage patty,and French toast. Her meal was not the best. Her sausage was soggy with grease,her eggs were hard as rocks. I took one bite of my pancake and could barely swallow it. It was so dry,I did not eat one more bite. My sausage links were burnt and greasy,did not finish those either. The people who work there are very friendly and nice. Maybe it was just a bad day for the cook today. I might go there for lunch sometime and see if my opinion of them change. I did have my autistic granddaughter with me who only will eat a certain food from a different restaurant and they gave me no worries about letting me bring that food in for her to eat in their dining room.
