Manhattan Bagel — Restaurant in Brick Township

Sadly, this location has very unprofessional, rude, and aggressive owners. Myself, and fellow peers have had several unfortunate encounters at this business because of their lack of communication skills and professionalism. I have been yelled at and publicly embarrassed as a paying customer, for sitting outside of the business with my 5lb therapy dog (whom I have NEVER brought into the vicinity). Outside seating is disgusting as the tables are rarely cleaned and usually consist of bird fecal matter. I am very familiar with this business as I've attended classes 5 days a week in the area for the past year. I was also once screamed at in the parking lot as I was approaching the building to walk in to my school (which is in the same strip mall as Manhattan Bagel, and has a shared parking lot). The person who addressed himself to others as the owner was spewing profanities at myself and others, telling us we were not allowed to use the shared parking lot in front of my school. Wouldn’t know how the food tastes due to poor customer service. Walked in about 10-15 minutes before closing and was immediately greeted with “the grill is turned off and cleaned so you can’t order anything off the grill menu.” And all of the staff were in full clean up mode. As someone who works in the food industry I know that if a restaurant business is open till 5pm, a customer walking in at 4:59pm should be able to order anything off the menu and offered the same customer service as someone who came in at 11am or any other time. If you want your staff done and out by 5pm then the restaurant should close earlier. But nothing should be turned off and deep cleaning shouldn’t take place until...

Yikes. Came in at 3pm and all the coffee was out except one which was cold...asked for some fresh coffee and got a sour response from the staff. Also got barked at for not paying for our food even though we had just paid. Although we got there 2 hours before closing, they were already closing up shop--mopping and sweeping all around (and over us...no exaggeration; definitely a health code violation)...gagging us with the bleach smell while we were trying to eat/drink/work...what in the world.
