I have issues with Big Johns, but read further... for they are the most amazing and the most terrible issues. The issue I have with Big Johns, is that no one makes pizza quite like, or quite as good as Big Johns. I grew up in Bridgeton, 86-94 before we moved out to Carneys Point... And even then, it was Frisko family tradition, to make the 45 minute pilgrimage to Bridgeton, load a party tray into the trunk, so that no one in the back seat could steal a slice, and then torture ourselves, with the most heavenly pizza scent permeating the vehicle 45 minutes all the way back. Good nights they were... For we would feast... And good days they were too... for left over refrigerated big johns is miraculously, just as tasty.
But you ask, "why prey tell dear sir... would this be so terrible?" Ah, you see... I lived among you once... in that promised land of pizza... But no longer... I moved to Ohio, like a fool, where the best Pizza is but average by NJ standards... Long do I stand on the streets, spreading the word of the promised land... A little pizza kitchen, bathed in amber light, with great ocean beasts, mounted on the wall... "SAY FARE TRAVELER, Do not return from the east, without tidings of cheesy, saucy deliciousness."
I am a man of sorrow... Doth that sorrow stem from the rose of loves bane? Nay... For it is the rectangular glory of cheese, sauce, mushroom, onion, and pepperoni, of which I mourn... I have tasted perfection... But far from the promised land I am... And in it's glory, do I bask, no more...
One cannot touch the light, and then be pulled from it, so cruelly... If you are in the area, take not this place for granted. If you are just visiting... Enjoy the moment... and when the glory is out of reach, we shall weep together, in pizza darkness...
No really... go get a pizza from these guys,...

Read moreThis is a well established pizza place that many people of Bridgeton have loved for years. They are famous for their delicious Sicilian style party tray pizzas. The staff rarely changes so the townspeople are on a first name basis with them. Remember to always bring cash because there are no credit/debit cards accepted here! They use a vintage cash register that just screams mom and pop shop. I've always said one of the few things I'd miss if I moved away would be those delicious Big...
