Upon arrival we were greeted at the door by a female staff member (who happened to be part founder/owner of the center) & welcomed us inside the museum area where we watched a video about the operation of the Stranding Center. This group receives no funding from the State of NJ nor any monies from the Municipalities who rely on & contact the Ctr to retrieve mammals stranded on their Beaches or shorelines (1800 miles of it). They depend strictly on donations from visitors or those who are lovers of the mammals of our waters. Great work is done here by the founders/volunteers who rescue these creatures in their time of need from feeding & caring for them during their rehabilitation phases...an ICU & Pool House (similar to Physical Therapy) until their time of release back into the water. I have read what you said about all the recent whale and dolphin deaths in relation to the sonar mapping for the wind mills so I know what side your agency is on. If I am to do any fund raising it will be for an agency that I have more faith in.
shame on you! 3 dolphins washed ashore sat at sandy hook, rangers stopped people from helping them back in water and your people took over 2 1/2 hrs to arrive so they all died. shame on you!
