My best friend just moved to the area, and I have been dying to go out with her for some dinner and drinks. We used to go to Northern Liberties all the time, down in Philly, but we needed to find some cool spots around her place since NoLibs can be a hike on a weekday. There were two places on her list of possibly going to, but this is the place she wanted to try out. She wasn't sure about the parking, but it's right out front (parallel parking) so no worries! It really helps that there are lines to draw out the boxes because it shows how many cars they can fit along that strip. That's smart thinking. We were greeted by a man who later turned out to be the manager. He was an awesome dude, super attentive to his customers. Our server wasn't always around, but whichever one that was we would just ask them over for help. The only other downside to this place is the trains run often. But this place is beautiful, I suggest sitting out back on the patio!! The food selection is great, the second I saw a somewhat Korean dish on the menu, I knew I was going to love this place. And what's more is, it had kimchi in it! I'm OBSESSED with kimchi!! I've never met many restaurants that weren't Asian that had kimchi in their menu! Thank you! They also have a lot of selections when it comes to drinks. I'm very thankful they have a section just for sour beer; that's very helpful to me because I don't have to ask for a recommendation. I can just pick one on my own. My favorite is sour beer. Everything was great, but please refrain from bringing your kids here. This is a bar not a family restaurant. There are going to be adults cursing. Especially if your kids are throwing around an iPad and disrupting other guests, screaming and crying when others are trying to enjoy their time at a bar away from kids, taking them to a bar isn't the choice. There's a friendly's close by. Yes, this happened on the day we were here. The guest started to scream at everyone else, that we were the disrespectful ones. And one other guest stood up to him, thank you said guest because the mother kept rolling her eyes at me and giving me dirty looks. Yes, I curse, no I'm not going to watch my language it was your choice to bring your kids to a bar. My day was not ruined because the manager came and apologized to everyone after asking the screaming guest with the children to leave or calm down. The screaming guest was screaming about that "we" have no "respect" for women and children. We're at a bar dude. We come to get away from kids and other stresses in life, to enjoy ourselves. Anywho, after the manager continuously checked up on everyone, the guest who stood up to the screaming man bought everyone present a round of free drinks for whatever they were drinking. If you are reading this, thank you! Overall, I had a great time and will be returning! I want to see what musical acts come to play here.

I’ll preface this by saying we’ve eaten at Dog and Bull countless times. It’s our place to celebrate with the fam, go for a quick appy and drink at the bar or take advantage of the outdoor seating on a nice day. I’ve seen/heard unfavorable reviews and don’t quite understand them and in all cases blame it on the person reviewing. But today changed that. Today, we came to the restaurant at a time when it wasn’t busy, the outdoor seating area was empty except for 2-3 tables and we just moved our daughter into college so we wanted to sit outside for the fresh air and unwind at one of our favorite establishments. We were seated in the back and not under the gazebo that was shaded so we asked to be moved to the gazebo area and were told by Ken we can’t be seated there due to reservations although most tables were empty. We decided to move inside. We were seated at a table that had full view of the outdoor area and during our entire stay all the outdoor tables remained empty. All were cleared, clean and unoccupied. I asked about it after our bill was settled and again Ken stated that they were for reservations and they needed to be cleared off and cleaned. (Which was a blatant lie since visibly they were spotless) Also how long does it take to accommodate customers and clear off a table for 4 had they actually been dirty. In any case Ken stood his ground and told us the 5-6 empty tables weren’t available for us. We are extremely disappointed but luckily Bucks County isn’t lacking places to dine. I want to end this by saying Alexis, our server was over the top friendly and made the rest of our experience enjoyable. She’s adorable and bubbly!!!! Just what we needed after 6 hrs of moving a child into a college dorm. It was an exhausting morning/day and we “were” looking forward to relaxing at Dog and Bull. We’re confused about the whole situation and so bummed that after years of patronizing, stellar reviewing and recommending this happened. It’s also the first place we couldn’t wait to visit after we rescued Cooper.

***April 2023 UPDATE*** MY WIFE AND I had Sunday brunch here and it was fantastic as always. We didn't have alcohol except for a sample of spiked coffee which was offered to us. I had the BBQ Pork Breakfast Skillet and my wife had the Waffle Sundae. The renovations are still occurring but the seating isn't too limited. There was a good amount of seats/tables available at 9am when they opened. We can't wait to see when it's all finished. ***December 2021 UPDATE*** My wife and I had dinner tonight and it was amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The dinner was amazing and the experience was fantastic. We will be back again soon. The food and beer selection here is fantastic. I usually only get the beers on draft but the bottle selection is huge. This place is small so be prepared to wait for seating and your food but the wait is worth it. There is a dedicated bar so if you just want to grab a stool you and do that. The menu has the typical bar stuff like burgers, fries and wings but the quality of those items is much much better, think 4 star bar food. They also have the best fish and chips. Take note of their blackboard special as they have unique offerings. I also enjoy the live Jazz during brunch on the weekends. Parking can be a little funky here but there is usually plenty of spots. They are right next to the SEPTA regional rail line and Croydon train station so you could ride the train here if you can get on the Trenton line R7. The staff is very friendly and I always enjoy my visits here.

It was date night for this beautiful girl and I. We were looking for a new spot to check out. We don't really have a lot of time together so we try to make the most of it. We stumbled upon dog and bull with it's good reviews, flashy website and fancy worded menu. We figured it was a no brainer. So we drove a half hour enjoying each other's company and fairly excited about checking this place out. We arrived and out of the gate we realized welp, there is no parking. Alright. No big deal. It was a Saturday and we could take advantage of the train station lot. All good but might be an issue on a crowded night. Upon walking up we loved the outdoor set up. Totally chill. It was fairly hot so we decided to eat in. Met with a very nice greeter, we looked for a table for two. It wasn't crowded. It was fairly early. Seemed to be well staffed. To our disappointment thus there were no seats available. We looked around in wonderment. Are you sure? Anyways. We found us seated on the high tops across from the bar. All good. I stared into the eyes of my muse. I could see what she was thinking from the get go. It was telepathic. We continued on our "culinary" journey. Figured on a starter of their world famous Chili Meatballs. Can't go wrong right? False. Jawns were overcooked Walmart balls with little to none of said chili or BBQ sauce. Oof. We picked at these marble meat things. Poking at them like we could bring some moisture or life back into them. No such luck. Poor meatballs were deader than the hole in my heart this place left me with. Honestly her and I were just bonding over how terrible they were and it brought us closer together and for that I thank you. Ok. Orders up. I went with the Grilled Chicken and Chorizo sando. Her with the cheese steak respectively. I looked upon my sandwich. Fairly good presentation. Curious of the taste explosion I awaited I dove in. Giddy of what I'm about to experience on a transcendental or at the very least a fundamental culinary delight. False. I gnawed at my chicken like a vulture tearing jerky off the bones of an unfortunate Emu. Embarrassed. Wiping my face with a lap napkin. You know the ones they wrap the forks and knives in. Gross. No napkins here. This is a no napkins establishment! Now back to on my gorgeous date. She looked amazing. I'm totally crushing hard. She is so hot. Sadly, I look down at her "Cheesesteak". Croydon is 10 minutes from Philly proper. The roll they put this steak on looked like a raw calzone or a baby arm? I'm good with words but I can't even truly explain it. Please just grab a bag of Amorosos. Oh the deep sympathy I had for my Sweetheart. We both exclaimed this baby arm 6" stake abomination was certainly not a cheesteak. 10 minutes from Philly and you can't make a proper Cheesesteak? We aren't in Kentucky or Pittsburgh. Dear Jeebus we digress. So we were asked if we wanted doggy bags from our strewn across the table leftovers. We wholeheartedly declined. We left the establishment minus $80 and consoled each other in the parking lot and agreed...never again. We laughed about it for hours and again I thank you. I guess it was worth...
