Sunrise Diner it's been there for a while now. There used to be another diner called Marianne's that was located about an eighth of a mile down the road and that was the happening place to go on Sundays after church or Saturday afternoons or just for good for afordable morning breakfast and a good atmosphere. Unfortunately Marianne's had a very bad fire and after they rebuilt they relocated up by 5 points in levittown. During this time the Sunrise Diner was coming into its own. I didn't like it when they first opened up but that was probably because I was so faithful to Marianne. Anyway, now I go there just about every weekend for breakfast. Sometimes in the middle of the week. I love going out for breakfast and that is the best place for me. It's right on Route 13 and Cedar Road which is also less than a half a mile from where I have my boat slipped in the Neshaminy State Marina. So any time I go down to my boat to do anything I always stop there first as part of my plan to get breakfast. As soon as I go in I am greeted by the really cool fish tank and a friendly hello and how many will there be. The waitresses and wait staff are awesome they have conversation with you they don't just bring you food and walk away. They even remember your name if you go there often. I like that in a place that I'd like to go to frequently. The food is good the portions are more than ample and the prices are awesome. It can get busy in there depending on when you go especially on the weekends but the wait time has never been longer than a few minutes. I find that most people are doing the same thing as me they have plans for the day or they just finished your plans for the day and they're just stopping by to get something to eat and going on their way so the wait times aren't too bad. I've seen both their breakfast menu lunch and dinner menus but I've never ordered a dinner from there so I can't speak much about that but I have had both breakfast and lunch there and they have been great. They will custom-make or custom cook anything to your liking which is also really good. So they're worth the five stars that I gave them for sure. If you're looking for a place local to Croydon this is the...
Read moreI used to love ordering from here but after this last experience, I will never order from this place again. I order from Uber eats and every time I order they tell me the price but then make adjustment and add on more money but the amount they add on is to much and they are not transparent with what they are charging me for. I called Uber and Uber contacted the restaurant. Uber called me back and told me the employee was rude and wouldn’t not provide him with any information. I was shocked so I contacted the diner myself and before I could get out the reason why I was even calling, the guy who answered the phone was so extremely rude and would not put the hiring manager on the phone. Eventually I had to tell them the call is being recorded and then he put the manager on. He was slightly nicer but would not give me his employees name. All I wanted was to know what I was being charged extra money for. After everything was said and done, he told me to call the store directly and to not have Uber call them because they won’t give them any info in case it’s a scam. I said that’s all fine but when I called, your employee was so ignorant and would not even put you on the phone so why would I want to even call. Needless to say, the staff are rude and unprofessional. I will never ever order form this place again. I don’t trust them now. The food isn’t even as good as it used to be....
Read moreNeither my friend or I have ever been to the sunrise diner, but she needed to stop by to pick up a gift certificate for a friend that goes all the time. Upon arrival the parking lot was jam-packed. You can see from the outside that it's not a very large diner. We assumed we would not be able to get a table. Inside we picked up the gift certificate and realize there was a table just being cleared so we asked if we could have it. Our waitresses Barbara and she was very friendly. When we told her we had never been there before, she was more than happy to give us her recommendations and said the French toast was the best ever. She wasn't wrong! I don't normally do french toast but I'm glad I tried it. It also came with two eggs and two pieces of sausage for a reasonable price. There were lots of other menu items that I would have liked to try, so I guess I'll just have to go back. Upon exiting the restaurant, it was even more crowded than when we first arrived. In fact it was standing room only. I had to turn sideways to squeeze by the people waiting in order to get out the door. In the parking lot someone had park next to me and barely left me room to open my door and I had to squeeze myself inside. I know that isn't the restaurants fault but a tiny packed parking lot and a crowded waiting area are not really my thing. Next time I'll try to go on...
