Let me set the scene. I, an exhausted mother of a toddler who just worked all day, cooked dinner & realized I forgot to put the veggies in to roast. I decided on a lazy out - ie. order some sauteed broccoli from my neighborhood Pizza Joint. I also threw a small salad on there as a lil' treat for Mom.
(That's important - why? Because my bill was like $16. I wasn't rolling in there spending a lot nor am I regular enough for them to know me. Let's continue.)
I'd just picked up my son from daycare and stopped in at John L.'s. While I waited in line to pay, I ripped off some of the bread to give to The Kid to keep the hanger at bay until I could get him to the rest of dinner at home. One gentleman behind the counter asked me if I want extra bread. When I agreed, he said "let me warm it up for you first!" Total mom heart eyes already.
Then, while negotiating said toddler who had begun attempting acrobatics in my arms as I tried to pay, I turned my attention to how to carry my food which was in a tray & my mini-acrobat to the car. Out of nowhere, one of the other folks behind the bar asked if she could carry my measly $16 order out to the car for me.
Listen - the food's great too but it's the interactions like those that locked me in. 30 years from now when I'm still walking in those doors, I'll remember yesterday's visit as the reason.
(Oh yeah, the pasta/pizzas are delicious, food is always ready quick, prices are well within reason - if anyone actually made...
Read moreHorrible customer service. I have never dealt with a pizza place more rude then this one. The manger was so ignorant when I called and asked for the right pizza. If the girl on the phone didn’t ask me to hold 5 times she may have gotten it right. They asked if someone ate it like we did something wrong. We had guests over and they ate a slice not knowing it was wrong and i did not see it was wrong until some was already eaten. They acted like I was trying to steal a pizza when i just ordered over $70 in food and order from here regularly. They asked for the pizza back I had no problem giving it back but with Covid why would you want a pizza back?? That is my question. I said that and they said oh well like I was bothering them when they messed up my order. I am worried they are going to put it in there window to sell slices from it. The way we were treated on the phone was unexpectable. I will never order...
Read moreI ordered various food items for a family gathering a few weeks before the party. They were to be delivered at 8:30 and then I changed the time and the items I wanted. They were so cooperative and easy to deal with. They did deliver at exactly the right time (it was a surprise gathering) and the food was hot and delicious. I had ordered pizzas, strombolis and hoagies from them previously so I knew I would be getting delicious food (and it was). But the icing on the cake were the Buffalo wings....they were plump and big and had the different sauces requested. Everyone loved them. I could have ordered twice the amount and still probably would have run out.
Thank you John Lucas in making it a memorable 80th birthday party for my husband! Didn't hear one complaint,...
