My wife and I went to this dinner, not hoping for anything amazing but at least decent. The wait staff was friendly enough, if not very attentive but the true let down was the food. Our salad was ok, but the soup (cream of turkey) had no taste. Clearly from a can of the no sodium variety. Our waiter picked up two full bowls and then asked if we wanted a container for them... Seriously? Then our meal came. We ordered the loaded chicken which we were later told was one of their most popular items. The chicken breast was cooked to death, dry with no seasoning and topped with congealed cheese and undercooked bacon. Because we were starving we ate some of it. The side items of vegetables were also bland and flavorless. Our waitress returned seeing full plates and again asked if we wanted a box!! Perhaps the food was too delicious to finish right there in her mind, I don’t know. It came with a desert and in her incredible wisdom she figured that the only thing we actually finished was the salad (and the crabby fries we had as an appetizer) so we MUST want desert!!! We politely declined. No acknowledgement of our clear disappointment with the meal. When it came time to pay we spoke to the manager who made it seem like it was our fault for not telling her that the food wasn’t good. Again, no apology for the meal or our experience. Then after we told her our issues with the food she stated that because they get seniors in the restaurant they don’t add salt! Really??? Not that this would have made the food amazing but your cooks are unable to make some dishes with salt and some without?? To her credit she did take off the meal and charge us for the salad since our complaints were not about that. We left still hungry and our stomachs so upset from what we did eat that we went to wawa and got ginger ale to help. One of the worst dinning experiences of my life. We will not be returning! I would give a 0...
Read moreWell it definitely was not the worst food I have ever eaten. Disappointing, as I remember their food being much better. I thought that a few months ago when I was there. As I used to go a lot more often in the 90s. I was with my friend and we both had breakfast. He ordered eggs loose with a generous slice of thick ham and 2 sausage links. I ordered two eggs over medium, with pork roll and we both of course were served potato's. I don't like them at most diners. As a kid they used to be a true staple to the breakfast. These potatoes were moist crinkle-cut loose and soft on the inside and slightly seared on top. They were delicious! The eggs were delicious! Here's the reason for the 3 rating. My buddy took a slice meaning he just cut a piece off his his ham. He said it tasted funny. He ate the one sausage link and part of the other as well. He stopped as his stomach was really bothering him afterwards. As for my pork roll, good old Taylor's ham which no restaurant I know serves, however, they used to sell thick juicy cuts of pork roll. Philly pork roll! This had no flavor except an extremely generous portion of sodium! Out of the 3 thick slices that were very appealing looking, I was only able to eat one. I was there before and was disappointed a shame to leave there feeling that way again. They took the price of the meat off the bill. We did not even ask them it was our waiter Nicki who was extremely polite. I don't know if you spell Nicki that way. But she was very attentive and professional. She came in a timely manner to see if there was anything we needed. I will continue to go there as when you have a problem they are accommodating. I'll just try something different and perhaps come back and write something more positive with a...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting the Golden Dawn Diner tonight, and I can honestly say it was a delightful experience! After not stepping foot in a diner for quite some time, I was excited to enjoy a classic meal, and this place did not disappoint.
Upon entering, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt both cozy and nostalgic. The decor had that classic diner vibe, which added to the overall charm. The staff was friendly and welcoming, setting a positive tone for the evening.
Our waitress was exceptional—fast and efficient without being intrusive. She made sure we were taken care of and was quick to answer any questions we had about the menu. It’s clear that the staff here truly cares about providing great service.
Now, onto the food! I ordered a steak, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and just the right amount of seasoning. Alongside that, the fries were a standout with a delightful sweet taste that really enhanced the meal. It’s not often you find fries that are both crispy and bursting with flavor, but these were a pleasant surprise.
For dessert, I indulged in some jello, which was a lovely way to finish off the meal. It was light, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy my craving without being too heavy.
Overall, my experience at the Golden Dawn Diner was fantastic. From the friendly service to the delicious food, everything came together perfectly. I left feeling satisfied and content, and I can’t wait to return to explore more of their menu. If you’re looking for a great diner experience with comfort food done right, I highly recommend checking...
