Dips & Dawgs Deli — Restaurant in Broadway

After seeing previous reviews, I'm not sure if we just caught yall on an off day or what but we will not be back. This was my experience on Saturday June 10, 2023. I have never stepped into a place of business, a small one at that, and felt so unwelcomed. We weren't acknowledged from the time we stepped in the door (8-10 minutes at least, maybe longer) until we were asked "what do you guys want", those were the first words spoken to us. The manager was very off putting with the way she spoke to her staff, and to my group. Overwhelmed, aggravated, and annoyed are the ONLY vibes she gave off. This may have to do with the fact that she was working with teenagers/younger people (and having to tell them what to do step by step literally) 5 employees total, but that is no way to act towards paying customers. As obvious first timers who had questions in regards to what was available, different types of cones, sundae options, etc, she acted as if she could not be bothered with anything we needed to know. When it came time to pay, the woman in charge point blank picked up her phone and said "oh I think I have a text" and proceeded to SCROLL THROUGH HER PHONE, AND RESPOND TO SAID TEXT BEFORE CHECKING ME OUT, as I'm standing there waiting, money in hand waiting to hear our total, to be able to join my family who were already enjoying their ice cream. From start to finish our entire experience was very uninviting. We elected to eat our ice cream in the dining area, and as we went to leave, we had to walk right past the staff up front, and we didn't even receive a headnod, a bye, thanks for coming, have a good day, etc. Like we were completely invisible, and looked right through as they were standing around talking amongst themselves. There were no customers at the counter or window as we went past. Really confused with others experiences here because this was pitiful. Wow! Never again. So as stated previously, I'm not sure where everyone else is getting these stellar nice and friendly vibes from, but it certainly wasn't that way towards us or the group...

To start with the positive, the Pimento Cheese is really good, and the Egg Salad was decent. The scalloped potatoes were decent as well. While the Loaded Tater Skins are nothing like what the picture shows and not what would traditionally be considered potato skins, they were really good and the homemade ranch is delicious! They are slices of potato with cheese and bacon, instead of full half potato's with the skins. I also really loved the frozen cotton candy lemonade! It was super refreshing and tasty! As for everything else, I'm really let down. The Chicken N'Dumplins Plate, the dumplings were gritty and flavorless and the mac and cheese was dry and lacked seasoning. As for the Cold Plate, I wouldn't consider the chicken salad to be chicken salad at all. It was kinda just shredded boiled chicken with no flavor. The only thing I saw in it was egg and maybe one or two pieces of pickle and it was super dry. The egg salad was decent, but overly wet. It was a little confusing how wet the egg salad was, but the chicken salad was so dry. Lastly, the Broccoli Cheddar Soup. I was so sad about this one because I have never met a broccoli cheddar soup I didn't love. This was super greasy, gritty, and chunky but not in a good way. It appeared to have separated when being cooked. I had really high hopes and always look forward to eating at or purchasing from small businesses, and I feel like there's a lot of potential but today was far...

Went here on Saturday August 9,2025 I will never return this is the worst hot dogs that I have ever had my goodness.The so call beef hot dogs are soft I just cannot believe that it is a all beef hot dog the texture is more like a all chicken dog or mixed meat.They skimp big time on the toppings on the tiny hot dogs,I asked for onions and relish on one there was barely any at all and barely any onions on the chili dog the taste of both was not even good.Not worth a dime glad you showed me how cheap you are with your ingredients on your small hot dogs,keep em that definitely showed me not to ever return

Update:The owner responded and said if I wanted more onion I should have asked for extra,first off if that is the regular amount of toppings that y'all add without getting extra you guys are definitely skimping,that was a 1/2 tsp of onion on each I took my food to-go.It is extremely hard to believe those are all beef hot dogs they are too soft more like a chicken dog or mixed meat I know all beef dogs when I see and taste them,they definitely don't need to be...
