Woodard Family BBQ & Grill — Restaurant in Broadway

Our Family had the pleasure of dining at the Woodard’s Family BBQ & Grill Restaurant today:) We traveled an hour to dine there and it was totally worth it!! We met The Owners Stephan & Jessica Woodard who were busy cooking away the most delicious food ever! We also met their beautiful Daughter & very attentive Staff who always made it a point to check on us to see if everything was to our satisfaction making sure our cups were never empty:) The fried chicken lived up to its great reviews and the BBQ ribs just fell of the bone and were such a treat. I loved the cabbage and potato salad my Husband & Daughter loved the fried corn bread!!! As soon as we made it home my husband called family members to tell them all about this Awesome Restaurant!! Thank You Woodard Family & Staff for offering such a great experience!!! This was a hidden gem in the middle of North Carolina. Luckily it was open the day that my friend and I met up. The BBQ was a mix of vinegar and tomato-based, pulled pork was moist and flavorful, and everyone in the place was incredibly friendly the whole time we were there.

We originally only met here because it was halfway between Fayetteville and Raleigh. The place had good reviews and happened to be open, so we thought we would give it a try. Found out it’s a family-run establishment where most of the family was hanging out that night. The food was excellent - I had the BBQ, hush puppies, baked beans, and cabbage (recommendation from the cashier). My buddy got the fried chicken with cornbread, mac’n’cheese, and beans as well.

Can’t say that I’d make the hour-long trip back on the nights they are open, but if I ever find myself in the area I’d be sure to stop by again for...

If I could put 10 stars I would. This outstanding small Black-owned business is the hole in the wall you are looking for. When it comes to home comfort soul food this is the place hands down. The staff and warm and welcoming and greet everyone that walks in and out their doors. Okay okay thanks for asking YES ITS WORTH IT! This is not my first time coming here and will NEVER be the last. The pulled pork is great. The hotdogs are great the Ribs are Tender and juicy. The Mac n cheese( before they run out) yes it happens...moist and cheesy. The cabbage sweet and savory. Even entree comes with 2 peices of fat back. The FRIED CORNBREAD.....FRIED CORNBREAD. Made fresh and crisp and soft in the middle. Ladies and Gentlemen please go..don't walk..RUN.
