Avoid this place like the plague. Seriously, go to Burger King and have it your way. The owner is an absolute a$$, overheard him screaming from the back a lot of WILDLY inappropriate things that were too much for my friend and I to listen too, and was concerning to say the least. This man should reconsider his life choices and seek therapy, maybe sit in a dark room and reflect. I truly feel sorry for the people who have to live and work with this man.
The food was terrible, burnt and cold, which is an interesting yet undesirable combination, and was a double punch to the gut when we got the check. Substituted veggies for fries, and was up charged more than if I had ordered it separately, I guess if you treat your staff and customers the way he does, he has to ensure there is still money coming in somehow. Even the tea was gross, it tasted like it had been sitting in the container for days. How hard is it to make tea? You're in the south, it's a staple, get it sorted.
To top it all off, my friend's burger was still cold in the middle, like cold cold, like it had just unfroze. I'm not sure how they managed to burn the outside and under cook the middle, I mean, it is a skill, just not one you should be proud of. This caused a great deal of gastrointestinal distress later that day, and he is still recovering, which caused him to miss work today.
SO, no only did we overhear some of the most vile and depraved things being screamed from the back of house (and I have worked in the restaurant business for YEARS, so I've heard it all), the food was terrible to the point it caused illness, we were charged extra with not a word from the server, we couldn't even wash the bad taste out of our mouths with the tea we were given.
And I don't want to be asked if we notified our server of the issues or talked to management about our concerns. If that man spoke to me the way he was screaming at whomever he was talking to, he would have caught these hands and I'd have smiled in the mugshot. Absolutely disgraceful, he should be...
Read moreWife and I live close but this was her first visit and my 2nd but my first was at least 3-4 years back. But not sure we'll be back. We arrived after the lunch crowd but there were still several people here and what seemed to be a good amount of staff which for the times is a good thing. Our server was friendly and checked on us when appropriate. My wife got the Bang Bang Shrimp Wrap (right name I think) and I got the Grilled Chicken Salad with Ranch dressing. We also got an appetizer of Hush Puppies. The hush puppies were at best just so so with a very frozen taste and quality. And no, we did not finish them. My wife said her Bang Bang was fine but too spicy for her so she had to remove the wrap and eat around the sauce. She likes somewhat spicy but these were too much but no big deal. But my salad may have been about the least salad I have ever had. Tomatoes were old and soft. Cukes were ok. Bacon was also old and stale. The Chicken seemed very soft to me so the wife tried a piece and agreed. I have never had such soft almost mushy chicken. It did not taste like it was spoiled but the texture was different for sure. But the Ranch I ordered was pure water with white to it. I asked the server and she did apologize but said it all depended on how the person mixed it for the day. I am ok with powdered ranch mix but come on. I poured it all over my salad and could not taste it at all. (The ranch). The staff all seemed pleasant and the place clean enough but the food (mostly) fell...
Read moreToday was our firstvisit. We had heard many good things about them over the years, but I was very disappointed. We stopped in after visiting the Broadway antique car show and vendor fair, so the place was very busy. Even with all the extra customers, they only had 3 servers on. We were promptly greeted server. She was the absolute highlight of our visit.
After we got our drinks, it took her another 5-10 minutes to come take our order, which is expected on a busy day. Unfortunately though, it took about 35 minutes for my appetizer to come out. The fried mushrooms were delicious, but I could tell the sat in the window a few minutes before they came out because they were warm and not hot.
Another 30 minutes went by and we still didn't have our entrées. The server stopped by and was shocked that our food hadn't come out yet. After another 10+ minutes, our food came out.
My husband's bacon egg and cheese burger came out with no burger patty.
Our fries came out warm, not hot. They had a good flavor, but would have tasted much better hot. My chicken Philly cheese steak was perfect. The bread was so good and the chicken was delicious. Once my husband got his burger, he said it had a great flavor. It was a very large patty, so you definitely get your money's worth with it.
If you plan to visit, I'd suggest going on a weekday or a weekend with nothing...
