Montilio's Baking Company & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Brockton

I just dove about 40 miles to montilios in Brockton to look at baby shower cakes. When I asked about them I was told there are books over there on the window. So I went over there and there were books. 2 of them wedding. One of them kids birthdays another sports and a couple of other subjects and another one adult birthdays. I looked at the kids birthday and nothing in there. There was another thin binder I looked in there were 2 that could fit the theme. So I went to the counter waited sometime I asked her if she had another book as there really wasn’t anything in those books. She cut me off first and told me yes there are I told I couldn’t see one. I had looked they the kids birthday even flipped thru an adult birthday one.she essentially told me I was wrong. Well first of all I’m not stupid. I ordered a wonderful beautiful shower cake about 5 years ago. That’s why I traveled so far to order another. I do not appreciate the young lady at the counter treating me like I was stupid. THERE WAS NOT A BOOK OVER THERE THAT WAS FOR BABY SHOWER CAKES! I DID NOT MISS IT. IT WAS NOT THERE. I have ordered from you before. In addition the one table available to sit at and look thru these books was covered with shipping boxes. Behind the counter was a multi tiered cart withcakes cannolis and other pastries on it just sitting there uncovered. I will be ordering my cake elsewhere. My wife and I have ordered our cakes from here for years and never had an issue. But this order was different, not only was it done sloppy, the order was not done correctly, when asked to speak with the manager the girl was hesitant. Finally spoke with the "Manager" by the name of Nancy and she was unprofessional, rude and was acting like it was my wife's fault making remarks like you didn't want to pay for extra when that was far from the case, she repeatedly stated this is not what I asked for, we said fondant not butter cream, you can clearly see parts of the cake not covered. Then after speaking with the "Manager" for over 25 Minutes she said I can cover the cake with white Fondant thus was 5 minutes before the place closed which clearly she was going to do another sloppy job. My kids could have baked a better cake. We will never go to this place again. Not because of the issue with the cake but because of the lack and professionalism in customer service. A simple acknowledgement and apologize could have fixed the entire issue. The remark of saying we didn't want to pay felt like a stigma remark for being a Hispanic person. Time to look for...

First birthday in 20 years where I decided to not just skip eating and getting a cake like I would normally (hate cake). I decided I wanted some chocolate chip cookies from here but with a light amount of chocolate chips. so my girlfriend put in an order for them, I spoke to the woman on the phone my self as well. I made sure to describe to her that I loved the cookies but there was just way too much chocolate for me so please make a batch with way less chocolate chips. She said she understood and charged us. We spent 60 all together getting other desserts and small things. My birthday came a day after picking up those special ordered cookies just for me to open them up and to find the most normal average chocolate chip cookies from them with just as much chocolate as any of their cookies. I know cause I compared it to another chocolate cookies from them purchased at regal. Let me just say how disappointed and let down I was.
