Mexican food is my favorite and I have had one certain place that just couldn't be beat for decades. I've tried almost everywhere and usually I'm like that wasn't bad but it's just not nearly as good as my favorite place. Well after many many many years and many places, I've have found my new home for Mexican food! Jefe's was delicious!!!! The entre was a variety taco dinner. It consisted of 2 crispy tacos, 2 soft tacos, 2 deep fried tacos, and 2 street tacos. They were a mix and match of some containing steak strips, some with ground beef, and some with shredded chicken. The meat portions big and the tacos were stuffed full. They were served on like a wooden paddle with pegs running down the center and the tacos were placed between the pegs. Separated each from another between pegs and it kept them sitting upright. The flavor in each of them was unbelievable. They were so full of flavor yet not to spicy for those that are heat sensitive. For those that like to spice it up, their salsa was the best I've ever had anywhere ( which was my favorite thing at my previous favorite, they had that beat too ) I ordered draft beer and it was served in a big icy cold mug with a salted rim dipped in red and green salts and a lime wedge. They had a mouthwatering menu of bar drinks that had everything delicious listed on it. From 25 oz margaritas, to margaritas with a Corona beer flipped upside in it and held up by the frozen ice to the mother of all margaritas... a 100 oz margarita tower with your choice of strawberry, peach, watermelon, raspberry, or mango. Ohhhh My! The atmosphere had a modern cool swag consisting of really cool artwork. The staff was super friendly and did a great job keeping us stocked with everything we needed. At the end, we were all stuffed and still took home enough leftovers for another entire meal. Prices were great too. They always have an entire second story that you can rent for your very own private parties and it's at an amazing price! If you're planning to go out for lunch or dinner this week you've gotta go check this place out unless you can live with knowing that you just spent to much money on subpar food when you could have had a flavorful paradise for your taste buds, washed down with a refreshing tropical treat with a kick. Go try it. You'll be so glad you did. Highway 51 & Oneta. Why are you still...

Read moreI ordered the 3 Tamale Dinner. We walked into a cozy little, quaint corridor, and then corralled into a semi-clean room, with probably 30 people. The staff seemed really great, professional, pleasant, alert, attentive, and courteous. Then the other shoe seems to drop when youâre served the food. To say the flavor of the food is âunderwhelmingâ, would be a complete understatement. The rice, while looked delicious, and flavorful was the complete opposite; rather, bland, flavorless, the consistency of eating a Lego. Then, the fork is introduced into the beans that looked like the way youâd dream of them to look. You bring your fork to your mouth to only find that while you can feel something on your tongue, you wonât be able to taste anything in your mouth. Unfortunately, the sides are something to be desired. No one in the kitchen has tasted that rice, or the beans, theyâre much, much too bland. However, one item will save the day: the three tamales warm, tender, cheesy, perfectly cooked, juicy pork, not fatty, perfectly flavorful! While you may not fill up on what could have been delicious, and edible sides, with a good entree, turned into sides with no flavor, and an entre that rose to the challenge. Not an excellent experience: Iâll give this...
