Brookline’s Finest- Takeout Meals, Cafe, Bakery & Vendor Shop — Restaurant in Brookline

Stopped by, first time, for a meal on a late afternoon with music later on upstairs (another venue). We were double charged by mistake and the owner said he would fix it. A couple weeks later, my credit card showed two duplicate charges - no fix. Called and owner said he didn't know how to credit it and asked me to call the following day and talk to his daughter who would know how to credit me. I called back and left a message the following day - no callback. Not professional service, and PS, the food was definitely 1 out of 5. Not recommended.

Received interesting response, noting there was a crowd present when we were double charged. That's not true as there were only the two of us until after we paid (with double charge) and then three others came in. Response noted received my message, and out of shop today, with no indication of correcting the double charge or that they would credit back my card. Poor service. May be time to call the credit card company and dispute two charges of the same amount.

Resolved, received credit for overcharge (charged twice, same amount each time) 4 1/2 weeks after initial overcharge and one week after several phone calls...

I absolutely love this place! It has quickly become one of my favorite spots. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and convenient—perfect for a quick lunch, treat, or take-home dinners when I do not wish to cook! The baked goods are amazing, with everything from delicious pies, cakes, and even fudge! The café has a cozy atmosphere, and I often grab a coffee here while browsing the vendor shop, which has a great variety of local products. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making each visit a pleasure. Highly recommend...

I'm not one to ever offer reviews. This is a spot that earns a departure. Excellent gluten free scones and granola bars. Absolutely over the top hospitality and kindness. Stop to fuel up for the park and hiking. Stay for the kind conversation and true new england atmosphere. Can not recommend more highly.
