Worst tasting marinated pork chop! I tried to eat it because I was starving but gave up when I started gagging. I kept spitting out the pieces into napkins and finally just went to the restroom and rinsed the inside of my mouth out 4 times.
The girl who served me saw me spitting into the napkins and never bothered to come over to ask if there was a problem. She was more concerned about clipping her finger nails.
When I went to pay, I explained that I was really disappointed in how my food tasted and why my plate was still full sitting in the table. She points to the manager half laying down behind the counter. I tell him the food tasted bad and he wanted a description. I told him that the pork was dry and tasted like it was old. That o couldn't eat it, was spitting it out and had to rinse out my mouth. His response was they never serve old food and was clearly mad at what I said and started to go on about how they've been here 16yrs with no problems blah blah blah. I looked him dead in the eyes, told him he asked me to describe the taste and that's what I gave him, paid my bill and left.
No apology. No show of concern. Just attitude!
Really? My food was clearly not eaten for a reason. 5-6 napkins bunched up on top of the plate and I'm in your bathroom rinsing and spitting out your food. You had better hope I don't get sick because I won't hesitate to call the Health Dept on your establishment.
Never again. I used to come here years ago when I lived in Brooklyn Park at least once a week. This owner had gotten worse in...
Read moreIt was our first time here. We came because of the many great reviews from a Facebook group. To our demise, we already had that "fleeting feeling" to not go inside when we walked towards the door, yet we pushed those feelings aside. The pho had good meat portions but the broth was bland - nothing notable or special, no depth, no beefy broth. We love eggrolls but the three of us could barely finish two eggrolls. It literally became a game of pushing the eggrolls across the table, back and forth. They were greasy, lacked flavor, tasted like a mash-up of American/Thai/Chinese freezer eggrolls than traditional Vietnamese eggrolls. The eggrolls were accompanied with a sauce that tasted like bottle concoctions tossed together vs the traditional nuoc cham made from scratch. The sauce didn't have a balance nor tempted us to eat more eggrolls. Aside from taking our order and awkwardly bringing our pho out with silicone mitts - that pretty much summened up the "service" - no checking on us, no filling our water, and we self paid at the counter. The restaurant was very loud and you literally walk through the dishwashing/sink/work area (only separated by a tattered privacy screen) to go to the bathroom. Can't imagine how the kitchen looks like. I've been to whole in the wall places and want to support local/ small businesses but this was our first and last time here. Our hopes of a new favorite spot left us regretting this decision as it was very...
Read moreEverything was really nice. It’s a small shop with a lot of people in there just talking and eating food which resulted in a pretty nice atmosphere. Also, the customer service was nice. They served us water and our menus asap after we were sat at a table. The reason why I rated this place a 4 star was because I ordered a large bowl pho and the portions/ratio from the broth and noodles was not enough for me. Compared to a regular bowl of pho to a large, everything was the same. The only difference was that I got more broth to have it called a “large.” This is something that I was really disappointed about because I think that since I ordered a large, I should’ve gotten a bigger portion of noodles but I didn’t.
This is also coming from someone who is 5’0, 107lbs who is skinny but with a big appetite and who was hungry for pho ONLY but the “large” bowl of pho did NOT even fill up HALF of my stomach. So I paid $16.25 for the ONE LARGE BOWL OF PHO (excluding tips) and left with my stomach still hungry, sadly.
If this comes across the owners & workers here, I would be absolutely thrilled if you guys would add some more noodles in your large bowl of phos to truly call it a large. Everything else is good from the broth and toppings (like meat) but just add more noodles if you’re gonna call...
