I went in to the brookshire restaurant on Saturday afternoon and asked for 2 pupusas and a Mondongo soup to dine in. I also asked for 10 pupusas to go. I paid for all of it with my credit card before I went to sit down.
After I was finished eating with my kids I went and asked about the 10 pupusas I had ordered to go. The Mexican lady that was in the register forgot that I had already paid and tried to make me pay again.
She also disrespected the Salvadoran dish by calling it "Menudo". I had to tell her that "Menudo" has completely different ingredients put in and I didn't want a Mexican menudo. I wanted a Salvadoran mondongo soup "Sopa de Pata".
If you don't mind eating mediocre-tasting food by mediocre staff, or if you live in the area and don't want to travel elsewhere for higher quality Salvadoran food, then stay with Magili Bakery...

Let me begin, the gentlemen up front that takes your order is very respectful and has a very good demeanor. We asked the lady that works here if they had coffee, and with a very condescending attitude says that why do we expect them to have coffee that day. It had a very overcooked look and taste to it. That chicken was more fried than ERCOT's system during the winter storm Uri. The location on Fry Rd. is way better than this location. I went in high expectations, only to have them shattered and broken. This trip was a hello and goodbye visit.....Until we never see each...

The owner came out with the few pastries he had chosen, wrapped up and gave it to him at no charge, we never touched it with our hands so he could of just put them back but he didn't. I was so touched by his gesture and he made sure I was ok and he didn't know us. My husband works for a local company in that area and he has made sure to tell everyone about this gesture so we will be going back. Oh, and the pastries...
