I researched stops along the way for our trip from Cleveland to Harrisburg and noticed this one because my boyfriend loves BBQ. I'm so glad we found it because this place is probably the best BBQ I've ever had (I haven't had a ton but from Stiles Switch BBQ in Austin to pretty much most BBQ places in the greater Cleveland area and spots in between). We got there at about 1130 and there was already a small crowd. The menu was easy to read with a good amount of options. We did not have to wait in line long and the lady who took our order was kind, helpful and quick. We waited maybe 10-15 mins for our orders, which came out piping hot, like actually steaming. The portions are huge and the food was delicious. My boyfriend got the 3 meat platter (he chose ribs, brisket and pulled pork) with the beans and mac and cheese and I chose the brisket sandwich on grilled cheese with a side of hand cut french fries. My boyfriend also tried the deviled eggs which he said were good (I don't mess with boiled eggs but he knows what he's talking about). We also each got a drink; there are fountain drinks, cooler 20 oz. pops and sweetened/unsweetened tea dispensers. Everything was delicious, from the meats to the sides. I don't typically like baked beans and i could eat these every day for the rest of my life. The actual restaurant is small and a unique little spot right off the side of the road. The decor was interesting but not too overwhelming/not attempting to be "cool, trendy BBQ place" and the entire place had a good vibe. 3 picnic tables inside topped with a roll of paper towels and salt and pepper shakers (which weren't needed because everything was perfectly seasoned) along with a counter top and a few bar seats are the only seating options but it still seemed roomy considering the amount of guests there (I think 12 people, 14 towards the end of our meal). There is a single unisex bathroom with one toilet which wasn't anything special but was very clean. The toilet was a little wobbly but, again, clean. I'm so glad we found this place, I would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area or even anyone not in the area. Devil's BBQ is definitely...

Brought some newbies with us this time since they had never eaten at Devil's BBQ before. We called ahead to reserve ribs and I would definitely recommend doing this because they are known for their delicious ribs. A one meat platter has 1/3 rack of ribs and they are meaty and delicious, seasoned perfectly! Each platter includes two sides. Some side choices have an upcharge. There are plenty of sides from which to choose. Now for the not so good.... Be aware that a switch has been made from frying in seed oils to beef tallow and this definitely affects the flavor. I have always ordered two sides of fried green tomatoes because they have been so good in the past. The tomatoes looked yummy but the beef tallow definitely changed the taste and I did not care for them. Hubby tried one also and agreed, but our friend ate them and he thought they were good. Rob, the owner was very kind to give me a side of the smoked Mac and cheese which was delicious! I also tried a seasoned French fry and again could taste the beef tallow. Sampled a few bites of desserts... Both delicious... Chocolate peanut butter crunch and smoked raspberry...

Found this place randomly on a long road trip - glad we did! I initially planned to save half of the generously-sized pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich for dinner. NOPE. It was so good, it was impossible to put back in the container for later. You have nice choices for different BBQ sauces - and I wish I'd tried more of them. The house-made vinegar coleslaw was tasty, too; and the smoked turkey was also great. It's not a regular BBQ place - they do things in a really different and refreshing way that is all their own. Be adventurous - you won't regret it. The place had a sort of picnic atmosphere, people just chilling out and enjoying the weather and their food on both outdoor picnic tables, and more under cover ones (the place is an open layout, overall). Staff were friendly, patient, and efficient. Patrons, too. We'll definitely make it an on-purpose destination if we're in...

Awesome awesome awesome! We're in from Ohio for the holiday weekend and decided to give these guys a try! I got their weekend special of 1/2 of a chicken with two sides got the smoked baked beans the jalapeño deviled eggs (3). Wife got the pulled pork with baked beans. Arguably the best baked beans we have ever had. The chicken was super juicy and fall off the bone tender, seasoned to perfection. The pulled pork was smoked beautifully and super tasty! Nice selection of food! Definitely want to try the ribs next time! Great food for a great price. Couldn't ask for any better than that!
