Matt,
Feel free to contact me directly. The previous owners have my contact information. Either your waitress is not being truthful, or you’re trying to misrepresent the situation. I was extremely polite from the moment I came in. I kindly asked how long the wait was, she said an hour and recommended I just leave and eat at the lodge (I didn’t ask or want to go elsewhere, she just said that). I waited patiently. Your other employee sat us. Even after her stunt, the only thing I said was that was rude of her, and I cannot believe I drove that far to support you for you to do that. I was at least 5 feet from her at all times. Obviously frustrated, but not once was I disrespectful or did I use profanity in front of my children. If she is claiming that, she’s lying. If you’re just saying that to justify your poor business practices or to victimize yourself, then you really need to be careful posting false information online. Secondly, it would be one thing if I was 10 minutes early and still in line waiting. It was LITERALLY 30 seconds before lunch, and I was already seated. Who takes away a customer’s seat after they have already been seated? You don’t find that weird? She said it was first come first serve too. Removing us from a seat that your employee told us to sit in was too far. If they wanted breakfast, they should have planned better. Coming in and cutting in front of two families that had been waiting should not be encouraged. It’s very clear that this particular waitress doesn’t like people from out of town. I don’t think there is really anything more to it. This wasn’t even my first experience with this waitress being rude, yet I tipped her well last time, returned, and stayed respectful this time. Again, I’d be happy to discuss it more with you offline, but you’re not going to lie on here. I’d still be happy to resolve this issue rather than you publicly double down based off of misinformation.
Also, if someone was actually yelling at your waitress in a full dining room, wouldn’t you come out immediately to help with the situation? 🤔 Here we are though. It’s almost like that wasn’t necessary, because I got up when she told me to, obviously questioned if it was fair, and then left to give business to another small business owner. I was willing to be civil, resolve the issue with you privately, and delete all of this, even though I have nothing to gain from that, and you are being hateful and combative. I wonder who is lying though. What would I have to gain from targeting you, when I went out of my way to support you? Your food is only average. I literally planned my entire day around coming and drove 1.5 hours with the sole purpose of supporting a small business, because appreciated the previous owners helping me with something. It’s really sad to see you handle their business so poorly, when they have exceptional customer service. Don’t worry though, I never had any intention of coming back to your restaurant, but I hope you felt better getting that off your chest 🤣
We drove all the way from Whitefish to eat here, because we had a great experience under previous ownership. The waitress immediately tried to deter us from staying and recommended going somewhere else, due to the wait. It was busy, but we waited a bit for a table anyways, because we really wanted to eat there. Lunch starts at 11:30. We were seated with our menus, and the waitress came over and told us we had to get up, because someone showed up at 11:29 and wanted breakfast, so they were priority. This was minutes after telling us this was a first come first serve business. There was at least one other group between us and the group that got seated as well. She said that was procedure and any locals know that. Then she proceeded to apologize to the other people for the situation. Insane way to...
Read moreSo I'm going to be nice and give you a three star thing here, because I understand how much these reviews mean and I don't want to drag you guys too far down. But, for the sake of future off-season travelers, I hope this gets someone's attention. We drove all the way over from Columbia Falls(a solid 90 mins) to have breakfast here. Not just because of the many great reviews(including several reviews stating that yours was the only restaurant in town to stay open all winter), also because Google said you were open, and opened at 6:30am on this particular day. Having never been to East Glacier before, we had no reason to think there would be nothing open in town. And in October, no less. So long story short, we wanted to take a drive and see some scenery, but we chose to get up early and head to East Glacier to catch your breakfast. We were starving after driving an hour and a half to get there, only to find there was not a single place in town open to eat. We had to eat at a gas station. So, my suggestion, maybe inform Google that you are not open, given you have all these reviews praising you for being open all winter(and it's not even close to actual winter). Just...
Read moreEdited: We didn’t even eat here. We sat down and ordered coffee and juice. The “orange juice” was something like Sunny Delight. Our server brought us the menu, which had several strips of masking tape over items, including all huckleberry options and everything on the dessert menu except a generic entry for “pie”. Many items advertised online that had lured us in weren’t available, so we paid for our drinks and left to seek breakfast elsewhere. — My initial review commented about the server lacking in personality. I have chosen to change this because I can’t comment on his personality other than his manner at table, which was, shall we say, less than energetic. I also would like to call attention to the owner’s reply to my review, which calls my assessment of the masking-taped menu a “mischaracterization”. Much of the menu was obscured by tape. Regrettably, I didn’t take photos. Further, the owner goes on to state that my other reviews show me leaving other restaurants—also untrue and a mischaracterization—and asks why I bother getting up in the morning. This, my friends, is your concerned...
