Berties Ice Cream — Restaurant in Brownsville

This place has been here every since I was in Middle School across the road from the old Tandy McIntyre Bldg. This was the first time, I'd been back since I left 30 some years ago. They had the best double cheeseburger around. Also, the upside-down banana splits in a cup (big white Styrofoam cup not the little ones). I'm talkin' 32 ozes of heavenly bliss. Then there is the Brown Derby. This is a frozen soft serve vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate then frozen. Oh my goodness, your head will spin off. No where else have I...

Employees were very friendly and the food was good. A very extensive menu for typical "cooked to order" fast food fare...plus some other well known specialties not at typical chain fast foods...ribeye sandwiches, barbecue sandwiches...also some delicious vanilla soft serve ice cream. It's definetly an order and go place as there is no inside dining. The weather was perfect for enjoying the covered picnic tables located on property just behind the business. I'll eat there again...

Stopped on the way out of town from Mammoth Cave. We waited so long at the walk-up window that we thought it was closed. We ended up getting four dipped cones and a snow cone. The ice cream in the dipped cones was almost as hard as regular ice cream and all of the cones were so stale, we thought we were eating the napkins wrapped around the cones....
