Denny's Restaurant — Restaurant in Brownsville

My friend and I finally came to this restaurant night before last (Wednesday 11/12/13). We are in need of a place with some health conscious food choices (which were available, and quite tasty), and a place that has wifi. Our first experience was really positive. One drawback to the whole wifi and computer usage is that there are no outlets at the tables. There is one outlet that my friend was able to plug into, but keep that in mind for part 2 of this review.... This evenings crew was friendly and courteous. They had good manners, and treated the customers respectfully.

Tonight we came back to get dessert, and to work, and use the internet. The crew this evening (11/14/13) is a different story. While they are not rude per se, and try to have manners, they are nowhere near the crew from the other night. For some reason the music that is playing for ambience sounded like some techno club music. My friend asked that it be turned down, which the manager complied. However, within a few minutes there was some awful din coming from the kitchen (techno-urban-Latin-pop), as well as a lot of loud talking, etc. One young man, for some reason, addressed patrons as "Boss", "Is everything good "Boss"?" He really needs to have his skills refined, and retuned, "Sir" would be such a better choice of a word. The manager was also sitting over in the closed section, where it was dark, and conducting social business on his phone.... We were also told that they "no longer" allowed customers to use the electrical outlet.... However, after a brief conversation with the manager, we were able to use the outlet.

Hopefully our future visits will be as pleasant as our first visit... tonight...

The customer service is seriously lacking at this location! I went for brunch a week ago and although the food was pretty good the service was horrible! There were no waiters in sight nearly the entire time. When I finally saw my waitress she only came out to to start sweeping under the table next to us. Mind you there is carpet floors not hard flooring. And she decided to sweep up all the dust from the carpet right onto my food. I never ever leave a restaurant without tipping but I didn't leave a dime this time. We decided to go again this morning for a late breakfast with all the family. I figured it couldn't be as bad as.last time. Well our waitress was more attentive this time and there was.actually wait staff walking back and forth this time. So I thought it would be a much better experience. Well this time it took us nearly an hour to get our plates. And when I got mine it was completely cold. I notified my waitress that mine and my sister's plates were both cold. Well about 15 minutes later she brings me the same plate back and it had been microwaved so much everything was all sizzled into fried bits. It was disgusting. She was polite even though I sent it back for a third shot. I ordered eggs with spinach and mushrooms and when it finally came out hot and fresh it was good but extremely greasy. Not something you'd expect from that kind of plate. But I am really unsatisfied with the lack of attentiveness from the employees. There was no management in site so the wait staff is allowed to do what they please for the most part. I wanted so bad to get ahold of management and give them a few lessons. Needless to say I wouldn't suggest...

We came here as a party of two. It took a while for us to get seated which was understandable due to the lunch rush. Once we were seated the host got our drink orders. The server brought us our drinks (my mug had lipstick residue on it which was disgusting but oh well) and left even though we had our menus closed up and placed on the side because we were ready to order. He never came back, even though we made eye contact with him multiple times. A couple that was seated 5 minutes after us put in there orders well before us (about 10 minutes, of course they would end up getting their food before us too). Within the time we waited I finished both my lipstick coffee and my glass of water which remained unfilled until our food came out. We finally got our meals which were satisfactory. I ordered the new omelette with the egg on top. The omelette was uneven and poorly folded with all the cheese on one side and the fillings spilling out onto the plate and the flap of egg just sitting on top instead of being tucked in like omelettes are normally. Once I finished my water it was never refilled again, nor did our waiter come to ask us how things were going until time came for him to bring the check and remove our dishes. Pictures of lipstick residue included. It may not be much, but for a germaphobe, it was enough. All in all, do yourself a favor, and don't come...
