I ordered the daily special for $7.99 that included chicken fajitas with bell peppers and onion, rice, beans, and lettuce on the side. It came with a little fideo soup and a little piece of dessert (cake or flan). The main dish was a good size and the staff was friendly. The problem was that the chicken was over loaded with pepper and it has a very strong chicken flavor and not in a good way. It tasted like when the dish is not fresh, like leftover chicken from a few days before. I thought it was just me so I asked my husband if he wanted some because it was too much for me and he said yes, but as he took the first bite, he said never-mind, it was not good. It’s not that the chicken had gone bad, it just tasted old. Another friend from the table tried it and she agreed. We ended up telling the waitress to change my dish to “flautas” crunchy chicken tacos, and she did, and was nice about it too. By the time I got my food, I wasn’t hungry anymore and was pretty grossed out. The. flautas were nice and crunchy, but the chicken filling was not the best either. I took them to go because I was embarrassed to leave the plate almost untouched. The soup also looked like it was AT LEAST a day old. I would not go again and wouldn’t recommend. I’d probably just go to “La Vaquita” next door. The limonade was also $4! I thought it was a but excessive and the price was not on the menu. They said, since the price of fruit fluctuated, they change the price of the drink as they saw fit, but did not include the price in the menu. Our table was a table of six and the menu does specify that they charge you a 15% tip automatically on your tab, but when you’re paying, they also ask you if you want to add a tip and do not tell you that they have already included 15%, so I felt that was also a little bit sketchy. When we asked, didn’t you already include the tip? They said, yes, but it’s only 15%. The flour tortilla was very...
Read moreMy family and I passed this restaurant and decided to try it out since the parking lot was pretty full we thought it should be a good place. However, that was far from true. The service there was horrible, our waiter was very rude. It was a long time before we got to place our drink order and almost an hour before our food was served. Once we got our breakfast our food was not well made, the eggs (which were suppose to be over easy) were very over cooked and seemed to have been there for a while because they were served cold. We asked our waiter if the eggs could be changed and the food heated she said nothing simply made a face, grabbed the plate and walked away. Fifteen minutes later she brings the new plate out, only this time the eggs were swimming in salsa the beans and rice were all covered with it. I believe they did this on purpose. We were so appalled and embarrassed, we did not want to make a seen and return the plate a second time so we simple kept it there. Very rude people worked there and not so good cooks. Our experience was so bad that I had to write this review we are NEVER going back...
Read moreThe food was horrible and not just mine my families food too. We visited the location on elizabeth close to the hospital. When i first got there I did notice that the wait staff was arguing with each other. Went to ise the rest room and the floor was wet and a moo was in the restroom i guess for so i mopped it up to not fall on the slippery floor. I had a caldo de res and had no flavor I asked them for salsa and cilantro to try and put some flavor on it but it did not help. I had 3 bites and ate a flauta from my wives plate. Nothing to write home about. I tasted an enchilada from my sisters plate and the chicken used in the enchiladas had no seasoning. Terrible food will never go back. I did tell the cashier that food was not very good and she said sorry you should have told the waitress. After reading other reviews i doubt this would have helped. This was our families Sunday meal and wanted to go somewhere close to the hospital. Food was terrible will never under no circumstances visit this restaurant again not even if it...
