Pie and Cake — Restaurant in Brownsville

My family and I have been coming here for SIX years we have always loved their cakes but never have I experienced the rude service and unprofessionalism as I have this week. I ordered a cake that I have ordered dozens of times before because it is our favorite, and it was horrible. I never have complained nor returned a cake to any cake shop before but this time I was just so upset as the rudeness began in the ordering process. They gave me a hard time when I tried to order it the day before and were not wanting to take my order at all. I had to go in person to order it and when I did the employee said it’s because I was saying the order wrong and I needed to learn the correct way to order it. I went to pick it up the next day and served it 2 hours later and it was extremely hard. I had 20 guests and served 20 slices and the majority of those slices were thrown away. It was hard and tasted old/frozen. I was so embarrassed. The following morning I took the cake back and the young man that attended me said, “no, the cake is perfect, moist and nothing is wrong with it.” I felt crazy so I asked, “well is everyone that tried it and threw it away crazy? Am I crazy?” And he responded, “well yes”. He proceeded to tell me, “if you didn’t like it well simply just don’t order from us again”. I went today to speak to the owner and she was even worse than her employee. She was extremely rude yelling at me back and forth talking over me. I even told her I was not there to argue with her I just wanted a solution to this $50 cake that was thrown away. I asked her “So you don’t care if your employees are rude and call your customers crazy?” To which she responded, “No, I really don’t.” Our entire family has recommended them to every single person that asks us for a cake. From here on out we can no longer recommend this business and are so disappointed by the way the situation was handled. We had read the other negative reviews and never listened to them as it was never done to us. It saddens us that a locally owned business can treat customers this way and simply not care. We will continue to tell all the people that we have recommended here to no longer give them business. NEVER BUY A CAKE HERE! Went in to purchase a cake for my husband on his birthday today. I specifically asked the lady who attended me if the cake I was going to buy was all chocolate she proceeded to say yes and that the top of the cake had strawberries. I said fine I will take it. I got home sang happy birthday and we cut the cake and it turned out the inside was filled with strawberry filling (jam). I called to ask if I could return the cake for another since it was not what I asked for, the lady seemed very bothered and said she couldn't. We asked if we could speak to the owner and she proceeded to say that she probably wouldn't answer cause she was busy.. she didn't even want to help. Very rude and just blamed us. My niece was with me and also heard her say it was all chocolate. She didn't even let us speak as she kept interrupting us. She then insulted me by saying you should know all our cakes come with filling. What?! It was my first time purchasing a cake there. How would anyone know unless they are a returning client. Very rude and a horrible experience. Not to mention the small piece we did try tasted horrible! It was as if we were eating a cake...

I order a cake for my moms birthday. Cake was so dry and the strawberries were literally getting rotten. I’ve order from this cake shop for years because my mom loves the strawberry cake. However, over the years the cake shops makes cakes in advance and leaves them in the fridge for 3-6 days. They will literally sell you old cakes knowing they’ve been sitting in the fridge for a while. I called to complain and they said they couldn’t do anything for me. I will never go back to purchase after years of being a loyal customer. In addition, my sister ordered a cake for her gender reveal a few years ago. The cake was not made on time they asked for 2 hours more even though we asked for it at 1pm. Somehow the cake was ready in 20 minutes. We picked up the cake and the whole cake fell to one side . A two tier cake. Again the owner said there was nothing they could do. We even asked if we could get fix anything and we would pay owner said no.
