A Valentine's Day Aftermath That Sucked More Than a Black Hole
We decided to grace this place with our presence the day after Valentine's Day, hoping for a decent lunch. The place was emptier than my ex's promises, so you'd think they'd be grateful for our patronage. But no, the food was the only thing that didn't completely suck – it was just okay, like eating cardboard with a hint of flavor.
The service? Oh boy, it was like watching a clown show where the clowns are also the audience. One server was munching on her lunch while serving us, juggling our dishes like it was some sort of circus act. She didn't even bother writing down our order; instead, she kept coming back, asking the same questions like she had the memory of a goldfish.
And then, they started yapping about us in their native tongue – yeah, we could tell it wasn't about the weather. Feeling like we were in some sort of live roasting session, we decided to call it quits.
When it came time to pay, they hit us with three bills: one for $50, one for $15, and another for $19. We tipped 15%, which is more than they deserved, but on our way out, after a quick pit stop in the restroom, the server – who was also the owner, surprise surprise – accused us of only leaving 10%! She demanded more money with the audacity of a pirate demanding gold, saying, "Most people tip 20%."
We were baffled, asking if tipping was now a law. She just rolled her eyes like a slot machine and practically shoved us out the door.
Never again. If you must, get takeout, but even then, expect your food to have been spat on by disgruntled clowns. This place is a disaster, and the owner? A real piece of work. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy paying for your own...
Read moreWent to the restaurant on a Saturday at 8:30pm. We were the only ppl in the place. Overall the food was very good but I must give it only 2 Stars since my husband got terrible food poisoning soon after leaving the restaurant. I’m convinced the reason was undercooked chicken since the woman who took our order insisted on trying to memorize our order & did not write anything down. After we finished ordering, she tried to recount our order to us and got it wrong. We corrected her and I was confident that our order would be messed up. The first mistake was I (being vegetarian), ordered vegetable spring rolls- and I’m convinced there was meat in it. My son ate some too and said there was definitely meat in it. OK- not the worst thing but I unintentionally ate meat and wasn’t happy about that. The entrees came out and immediately we saw she messed up the dinner order. My husband got pad thai instead of pad see ew. So she took it back and they speedily cooked the correct meal. They cooked it surprisingly fast - and most likely the chicken wasn’t thoroughly cooked enough. My husband felt sick within 15 mins of leaving and it ruined the last leg of our trip. Thankfully there was a Meijer nearby that was open late since my husband hung out in their bathroom for an hour. He was dry heaving in the car- was shaking uncontrollably and could barely walk. I even considered bringing him to a hospital! We had to get a different (closer) hotel to stay at and lose our $ at the one we booked which was farther away. It was a very costly and tortuous meal for my husband. And this all could have been prevented if only the lady WROTE down...
Read moreThis was my first time here. We started out with an appetizer of fried wonton and spring rolls. Both were delicious each had a slightly different sauce very much enjoyed them at our table. For entrees two of us had the duck kaprow another person had the Lean cuisine which was a vegetarian dish and lastly one fried rice with shrimp. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. The duck dish is one of their specialties and it has a rich dark sauce with it Love the presentation and the flavor. Portions were not overly large but we're satisfying. Afterwards for dessert we tried The pumpkin custard. This custard is served hot which surprised us. We were all a little apprehensive to try it but were very pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was so I highly recommend it. One comment about all of the food was that it was brought to the table steaming hot right out of the kitchen. Also had two alcoholic beverages and the cost of the meal with two appetizers two entrees and two beverages we felt was very reasonable. Currently due to staffing shortages you must make reservations for dinner. This is a good thing. The parking lot is very small and the restaurants not very large either but with them controlling the number of people they have through the reservation process we had no problem...
