From Virginia 💕
I’m happy to see a place like this in my small hometown.
Bottom line: staff was friendly, drinks were good, but food and crowd were a problem for this business. With minor improvements, I think they could really take it up a notch! Best wishes💕
Let me first give a shout out to Ms. Carrie my server and bartender. They were extremely crowded and busy and although I had an initial wait before taking my drink order, once started, she was very attentive, friendly, chatty, quick, and maintained a smile even though they must have been stressed with the crowd.
They were seat yourself, which I do not recommend during busy hours as you set yourself up for disappointed customers and frustrated waitstaff.
Behind the bar was chaos and dirty. Recommend organization and frequent cleaning/decluttering.
Wine selection was appropriate for a place of this size. The Italian Pinot Grigio was crisp, clean, and delicious, as was the 15-year tawny port.
Food: plastic ware was not appropriate for a place like this. I was very disappointed they did not provide silverware, especially since the food was served on such nice plates and had a decent presentation.
I ordered the chicken poke bowl. Overall the food was disappointing and lacked flavor. The ingredients seemed fresh though except for the chicken. Chicken was served cold, which should be warmed. The bed was served on romaine lettuce which is cheap and lacks flavor of a poke bowl. I recommend adding in watercress, arugula, and kale for flavor, crunch, and color. Additionally, poke bowls should have clear separation of ingredients; these were all mixed in. Some dried cranberries in the chicken version only would add color, tartness, and sharp flavor as well. Sesame seeds on the tuna or salmon would be an added benefit as well.
I’ve traveled Europe, Asia, Australia, and lived in beautiful Virginia for over 10 years exploring their many wineries and breweries and tasting delicious foods from the best bbq to high end restaurants in the heart of D.C. I hope my review and suggestions were helpful.
All the best for your prospering business!!

Read moreI. Love. This. Place. There are so many things to love about this place! The food.. healthy with fresh ingredients, and some of the best food EVER! Their charcuterie board is a MUST 😍 Not only is the food outrageously good, they kick it up a notch and make it look pretty too! All their food is presented beautifully. The atmosphere.. is perfect. Classy, laid back, family friendly and fun all wrapped up in a beautiful space. There are two separate indoor dining areas and an outdoor patio that is gorgeous and peaceful and amazing with nice weather. They did a phenomenal job decorating this place and it's a treat to go there. In the front area, they have live acoustic music in the evenings, and they even have a treasure trove of games and such for kids 😳🥰 My daughter and I love playing Uno when we go there. No.. I'm not done yet.. I wasn't joking when I said there are many things to love 🤷♀️🤣 The beverages... The folks behind the scenes are amazing at what they do, and they have so many options! Their coffee bar is out of this world yummy! The quality and flavor and choices are top notch. My daughter loves their hot chocolate. Their specialty wines and brews have amazing flavor, and they have a massive board with tons of options that change frequently. The staff... Gotta love small town, family owned and operated restaurants ❤️ Super friendly and amazing folks at Kora's. They know their menu well and can easily help you decide from their difficult to choose from options. When it comes to homemade brews, they explain the flavors and differences very well and can help you choose the perfect one.. and they can give you a small sample to make sure it's to your liking. This is one of my favorite places to meet with friends and clients for business.. I always know they won't disappoint, and everyone I've ever introduced Kora's to was highly impressed and made it a point to...
Read morethis place would be good if it weren’t for the incredibly rude owners. When I go in in the mornings the baristas are always visibly very stressed out and the owners are always in the corner watching them. I’ve witnessed the owners yell at the baristas multiple times about not getting orders fast enough despite there not being enough baristas. A piece of advice is if you want more people to work there maybe you shouldn’t be rude to the baristas which makes them leave and tell other people that were considering taking that job to avoid it. The baristas are the customers servers, not servants. Don’t expect them to do everything perfectly and fast when you’re rude to them and don’t hire enough people. Also, I’ve heard of the owners being rude to the customers though it hasn’t happened to me personally. Despite this establishment having good food and a good atmosphere, all of it is pretty much ruined by the baristas being visibly stressed and the owners watching them. I do not recommend going to Kora’s because the atmosphere is ruined by rude owners watching over employees and because I just don’t think I can support an establishment that doesn’t respect the people that...
