Southern breakfast and iced tea for me, Friday fish fry and hot tea for Mom.
We walked into a nearly empty restaurant at 4 pm, normally the place is filling up then for the all you can eat fish dinner on Fridays.
The wait and kitchen staff were all sitting at one table gossiping, despite the corner booth full of dirty dishes.
The waitress was friendly enough but not very attentive, I asked for catsup for my barely warm, greasy, non-brown, hash browns and Mom asked for honey for her tea, the ketchup took a long time to arrive and Mom never got her honey.
My sausage links and limp, greasy bacon were also barely warm, you could tell they had all been pre-cooked and slapped on the griddle just long enough for the scrambled eggs to cook and the "home made" sausage gravy had absolutely no taste.
I suppose the biscuits were okay, at least they weren't rock hard.
The scrambled eggs were all right but they're kind of hard to screw up.
The breading on Mom's fish was gummy and had poor flavor, not the crisp tasty item formerly served here.
New owner? New cook?
Bad food in any event.
Whatever, the person at the cash register was unfriendly, no thanks, no how was your meal, Happy New Year, nothing but the amount, that was all she said.
Staff continued gossiping, the corner booth still had dirty dishes on it when we left.

Read moreWent there between lunch and dinner time. There wasn't many people there when I first got there but many more came in while I was there. The waitress asked if I needed anything right when I sat down and if I knew what I wanted and I told her I needed a few minutes. I will say it took her a little bit of time to come back and take my order but she wasn't just standing around. She was talking to her other customers. I think this is a place mostly visited by locals cuz everyone that came in knew all the wait staff and the wait staff even knew a couple of their orders. Offhand has that nice diner feel menu is pretty good and robust. Had the gyro with fries and it was good. Nothing to write home about and say this is a great Euro. You must go there but it was a a pretty nice Euro. It was stealing the meat was good. They even gave you some of the crispy outside meat which is nice. If you've ever had yours, you'll know what I mean. Overall good place. So stop in and get something if you're hungry and if you're a local good place to go where they know your name kind of...
Read moreBeen coming to this restaurant since before it was 4 seasons(19 years now) But yesterday put an end to that. I ordered AYCE fish and asked waitress if fried was the only way it was prepared....I was told by her that grilled was an option. When I was asked if I wanted more I said yes. Waitress returned a few minutes later to inform me if I wanted grilled again that I would have to pay for another order...but if I opted for fried...it would be free with the all you can eat. I seen the owner and asked her to come to table. She confirmed her decision....but after I showed serious disappointment she said she would do the grilled but only this time...and insisted all her staff relays this message. When the second plate arrived at table I found it to be the nastiest food I've ever had brought to me. So sad that this has to happen. I know I am but one patron and certainly won't have any impact on your business. But wow!!! I'm including pics of fish....one pic is plate tipped to show the amount of water. I refused...
