On a positive note, you get extremely large portions from this restaurant. I have tried the crab rangoon, egg rolls, chicken fried rice and chicken broccoli. As a native of Springfield Missouri, home of cashew chicken, I regard myself as kind of a Chinese food expert. So, I feel confident in stating the following review. The chicken fried rice is ok. It has a nice flavor, but not enough chicken to go with all the rice. Also, the veggies added to the dish are very sparse. It only has peas, carrots and onions. Golden Dragon in Ozark, Missouri adds bean sprouts to theirs and its the best I have ever eaten. I will not order the chicken broccoli ever again. Although you get a lot of good sized veggies and chicken, this dish does not appear to be stir fried at all. It tastes as if its steamed with a clearish/milky gravy on top of it, swimming in it actually. This gravy has no taste at all and offers no benefit to the dish. The crab rangoon is tolerable with an ok amount of cream cheese. I had an egg roll last night and threw half of it away. It had a strange taste. When comparing chinese food in this area to Springfield Missouri, I am sorry to say it is awful. The fried dishes are usually overcooked and have strange sauces. The stir fried dishes have too many spices or weird gravy that cover up the taste of the protein and/or veggies instead of accenting them. Long story short, if you are ever around Springfield Missouri, check out Golden Dragon in Ozark Missouri, or Chinese Chef, Lucy's, Yen's or Creasians. Be sure and try the cashew chicken. Its awesome and originated in Springfield. You will not regret eating at one of these...
Read moreWell, my kids said this place was good and I was craving shrimp fried rice, so I gave it a try. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!! There was hardly ANY shrimp in it, two of the shrimp were scorched, the rice wasn't completely done and it tasted like glue. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager, I politely told her the previous and she very quickly and curtly informed me that it was that way because it was fresh rice and there are only 6 shrimp in their shrimp fried rice. Well not trying to be rude but I would like the dish to be completely COOKED and would like to have at least enough shrimp to feel like I got my money's worth. THERE WAS NO APOLOGY OR ATTEMPT TO MAKE IT RIGHT.
CUSTOMER SERVICE-ZERO STARS VISUAL APPEAL OF THE FOOD- ZERO STARS TASTE AND QUALITY OF THE FOOD- (-)5 STARS.
Total stars NEGATIVE 5 but the review gave you no choice but to give them at least 1 star
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WELL WORTH THE DRIVE TO GO TO THE CHINA TO GO ON UNNIVERSITY.
I WON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN First...
Read moreMy boyfriend and his grandma really love this place, so I tried to give it a chance twice, but MAN the food is so nasty. For one, they pack absolutely EVERYTHING with mushrooms. I didn’t even know I was supposed to ask for the fried rice without mushrooms because I’ve never even been to a Chinese restaurant where they do that. The egg roll filling and crust had a bunch of cinnamon?? Like who puts cinnamon in an egg roll. Those two don’t go together. Which is very disappointing because egg rolls are usually the standard of quick Chinese places. I ordered the hot and spicy chicken and was extremely disappointed with the chicken that was chewy and very evidently low quality. The crab rangoons were just about the only thing that was edible for me, and you still have to get multiple orders which is frustrating. The hot and sour soup is usually my go to soup at a Chinese restaurant, and theirs has a great flavor actually, but again, it is absolutely PACKED with mushrooms. Overall a very disappointing two...
