We live near by and have talked about trying the food here many times on our way through, being creatures of habit we finally decided to branch out and try something new tonight. Looking at the reviews 4.6* out of 5 sounded promising, so we were excited. We ordered the 2 tacos and 1 enchalada cobmo and a 3 enchilada combo (our normal order). Ordering was quick and easy, I called in at 1:15pm and they said it would be ready in 5-10m. When we got the food back home I found that they had given us extra food, they somehow gave me 3 enchiladas and 2 tacos. Not just one enchilada and 2 tacos as ordered. Its Americanized mexican food as opposed to traditional, but we expected that.. What we didn't expect was the lack of texture and flavor. The ground beef is spongy and greasy making the hard taco shells fall apart. The tortilla for the enchiladas were mushy. The rice tasted like plain white rice with some bland red sauce added in to make it the correct color and the beans were REALLY watered down. I'm not sure how they have so many 5*s, maybe its the locals who have been eating here for years, but as someone who's just having it for the first time, I Definately won't...
Read moreThis was the second time I have eaten at Mariachi Alegra in buckley and they are SO good and Huge portions! I got the camarones fajitas and the shrimp were tender and perfectly cooked, I can't stand badly cooked shrimp these were very tasty - everything was very fresh and well prepared. Our waitresses was cheerful very pleasant. There was so much dinner that I got a box and had enough for another meal the next day My total bill came to 19.75-ish and since it was enough for 2 meals, I would say that was very economical! - Very nice and I will be back again :-)
Just went again tonight, (eigh months after original review) and it was amazing once again! Parrillada chicken and beef and it was so good!
I went back last year and was very disappointed , something has changed there. The beef and the Carne Asada taste tasted sour . Servings are still huge though, and my two friends who went were very impressed with the food so maybe I just got a...
Read moreAmbiance: Classic Mexican restaurant vibes. Tables and booths. Chill.
Service: Friendly greeting as we walked thru the door. A little under staffed so getting starting took a little longer than normal. But once we ordered, refills on drinks and chips and salsa and beans were all on point.
Food Quality: Chips were better than most but not the best by any means. Salsa was good enough and even had a little spice to it. Rice and beans were pretty average. Grilled chicken was flavorful and not dry. The standout was the chipotle crema on the shrimp, mushrooms, and onions. Very good.
Value for Money: We split the plate and still had leftovers. With sodas and all it was about $20 per person. Average these days it seems.
Overall Experience: Favorite local spot. Exactly what I was wanting /...
