El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Buena Park

Churros are a major disappointment, as another reviewer “Ethan” mentioned it’s like a naked churro, barely any sugar/cinnamon on them. Everything else is great and service is good. But a couple years ago many EPL I go to started SPRINKLING the sugar instead of a full immersion of sugar/cinnamon that completely coats the churro. Everyone knows that’s how a great churro is made. But apparently EPL went on the cheap. I’ve emailed corporate about this issue and never a response. But I was told by the staff I could request for them to add more sugar mixture each time - why should I have to do that? And I hate to go thru that hassle with the employees translating to the “churros person” what I want. So unnecessary - just make them like you used to. That’s why I NEVER buy churros anymore. I had a terrible experience at a fast food restaurant today...but not here. Everything at this Pollo Loco was excellent. I was greeted as I came in. The place was sparkling clean. The food was prepared quickly and was exactly what I was hoping for.

These people deserve your business.

Update...

Surely I was just having a good day. I was thinking happy thoughts. I would have said something nice about Donald Trump.

So I came back a month later. Nope. They actually are fantastic. Again the whole restaurant was spotless. I spilt some avocado sauce at the salsa bar. I feelt guilty. I may need therapy.

There a little vases with (actually very nice) plastic flowers on each table.

The young lady who took my order was (I know it's shocking) professional and friendly.

Just as I was about to leave an employee came by with a tray of sundries like toothpicks and mints.

I have been to many El Pollo Loco's in my lifetime I am 43 years old and have eaten many times there but this El Pollo Loco on Beach Boulevard near Super1 mart and Bank of Hope is by far the best El Pollo Loco ever super clean restroom smells very good well stocked food tasted excellent and the best thing about this place was the service a man named LUIS I'm not sure if he was the manager but I think he was was so very friendly professional and courteous I could not believe the way he runs his El Pollo Loco it is immaculate it is efficient and very friendly even to the people that are hard to be friendly to I give this place 20 million stars thanks...
