I don’t like giving bad reviews. I like to support the local business, but when it comes to food and the taste I am very strict about it. I am Korean so I usually don’t have high expectations on service, but when I am at a restaurant I expect the food to taste good. That’s it. Not a lot to ask, right?
This place was our go to place for Chinese food, but recently the food did not taste like what we were used to. We just thought the chef was having a bad day or was on vacation. So we came back another time hoping the chef was back. But still the food wasn’t what we remembered. It wasn’t too salty, but actually it had NO FLAVOR! We complained the second time that happened and the server told us there’s nothing wrong with the food. I was like, “Seriously? Are you calling us a liar? We’ve been coming here since it opened and ordered the SAME FOOD EVERY SINGLE TIME!” Since the server realized that I was pretty upset that she took the dish and said that they’ll flavor it some more. She came back with the food not tasting ANY better than before. I am not a professional cook, but I thought “I COULD do better than THIS!” We just gave up complaining overall and just decided NOT to come anymore.
My cousin had hold me that she got food poisoning from this place a few weeks ago! Yikes! Seriously? I totally forgot to tell her NOT to go to this place. I’m writing this review to make sure NO ONE ELSE goes through the tragedy of tasting their food or get food poisoning! Stay away!
I would recommend going to Pan Holic in Anaheim (don't expect awesome service, but their food tastes good and the portion is fairly good) or Peking Gourmet in Garden Grove (all time favorite with great service) for Korean-Chinese food. Also, I recommend Panda Inn in La Palma (simple clean tasting food and small portion) for original...
Read moreBeen here many times before. Food has always been "just okay" but I come here time to time with coworkers because it's near our office. Tonight was probably one of the worst experiences I've had.
From the start, the server (korean lady in her 40s-50s) was condescending toward us. As a Korean American, I am very familiar with how rude Koreans can be but this was excessive and much to my disliking. We weren't a very large party (6 to be exact). Because we were sharing some fried rice and mapo tofu we asked for 6 bowls and, in Korean, she replied, "Why do you need bowls? For what? Oh, for the rice. Why can't you just eat it on the plates?" Mind you, I've been here with older, more senior Korean coworkers (with parties of 8-10 people), asked for the same thing, and never had an issue.
That was just the start. Aside from a few other rude instances that feel unnecessary to name, the final was the kicker. Story time... The itemized bill (not pictured) comes out with a handwritten "18%" listed underneath the total. It was clear she was implying that we were to tip 18%... based on our 'large party.' I kinda just shrugged at it because, though rude, it's not the worst thing I've seen a waiter do in a restaurant. I put my card down, she took it, and comes back with the bill needing tip and signature. And, as pictured, the server(s) put checked off, circled, and wrote the total ($157.20, not my handwriting). A red flag went off in my head so a friend checked and seems like it's not legal practice for a restaurant to manually write the tip and total on a bill for the customer.
No, I did not see any sign for automatic gratituity for size of a party. And I think this must be in violation of "true tip" policy. I plan on filing a complaint and see if this violates any local state consumer...
Read moreI was there with my parents today, and a month ago. First time we ordered mongolian been and 8 kinds sea food dish (don't know the name but has abalone, shrimp and other sea food). The weird thing is that food came out 5 min after ordering. The mongolian beef was decent. The other dish was terrible. Today we decided to give this place a second try. The mongolian beef was terrible. Some parts of it were uncooked, which makes no sense given that they use high heat wok. We also ordered a jelly fish dish. It was very substandard and tasted bad. We also ordered Jiajangmyung. The noodle was overcooked and sauce was mediocre. The weirdest thing about this restaurant is that food comes out literally 5-7 after you order. I think what the restaurant operators are doing is that they have food already ready in fridge or freezer, and they throw them in the wok. Now remember I said that we found pieces of uncooked beef in Mongolian beef dish. I think what they did was have the meet thrown into the wok while still frozen and try to stir fry quickly and caused some piece of meat to not cook due to being stuck together in frozen state. I just think this place is cheating somehow. Food is not absolutely terrible but is very mediocre at best. I think they are cutting corners to save time and labor. The taste of the food shows. Our family will never go to this place again. I also notice I feel very gaseous after eating there. Could be a coincidence but given the bad impression they left both times, I don't feel positive about this place at all. Three of us were criticizing the food while eating. I am sure the waitresses heard what we said. It simply makes no sense how they can bring out your dish in 5 min. Don't waste your time going here. You...
