Was this one of the best meals I've ever had... anywhere in the world? 100%.
Would I make the two-hour trip to Buffalo for the sole purpose of eating here again? 100%.
Quite simply, sometimes the simplest food, when done right, is also the best. And Extra Extra Pizza does simple food incredibly well.
We ate:
Pizza #7
Salad (there was only one option - simplicity!)
Soft-serve ice cream (a twist of vanilla and lemon with a drizzle of basil sauce on top)
Each dish was fresh, flavourful and good enough to want to ask for seconds.
The soft-serve (and I consider myself a connoisseur) was BEYOND excellent. And that basil sauce... 😋
But... as good as the food was... here are some other special things to note:
The service is friendly and unpretentious;
The space is SO cool. It's bright and pink, the bar area is gorgeous, and I would live there if I could;
The restaurant is tipless (check out their website for a detailed explanation behind this decision); and
The bathrooms have everything one could want/need: feminine hygiene products, stain wipes, mints, bandaids, lotion, diapers... I was so impressed, I took photos.
Both my dining companion and I were in agreement that Extra Extra deserved a review that sang its praises.
I'm giving this place 5 stars... but, if I could give an "extra" (necessary pun) star, I would.

I got a standard New York style with pepperoni and the flavor was excellent. The sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and bitter, and the crust was perfectly crispy on the ends. It definitely is a cut above the rest in terms of quality locally.
Afterwards, our server informed us of the soft-serve which offered Mocha and Sweet Cream. I opted for the Sweet Cream, and I can attest for the exceptional quality and flavor of their soft serve.
To top it off, the atmosphere and service was great. Everyone was happy and having a good time (likely a testament to its co-op design) and the music kept spirits high (heavy 80s electronic at the time I was here which I’m heavily biased toward). I can safely say it was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had, and some of the best service. To top it off, it’s all at a pizza place, not some fancy overpriced restaurant.

Read moreAt first, I opened my pizza box and was annoyed at the pizza that I had just paid $23 for, but I was mistaken, because it was probably the best pizza I’ve had since I was at Pizzeria Bianco in Arizona last year. I got a number seven, the pizza was balanced and thoughtful. This place is probably the best thing to happen to the Buffalo pizza scene since Jay’s Artisan. The crust was so thin and crispy, and was everything that I’ve been waiting for, as someone who loves New York style pizza and can never find it in Buffalo. The sauce was flavorful, it tasted like real tomatoes, bright, but not too acidic. The oregano was thoughtfully done. It reminded me of a pizza that I had a long time ago in Brooklyn. I can’t wait to see what else this pizzeria has in store, I hope to go back again soon. (It was super hot in there though, I was gonna sit but i had to get take out, their AC must be broken which made me feel bad...
