Fairy Cakes Bakeshop — Restaurant in Buffalo

Just purchased 4 cupcakes (Samoa, Pumpkin, Chocolate Oreo and Funfetti) as well as a slice of the Halloween Funfetti Cake and the Pixie Vomit rice krispee treat.

Interestingly enough, we started with the cake which was hard and dry. I thought maybe the cake might have been out for a couple days so tried the cupcakes and they are the same as well.

This place isn't bad, it's adorable but please note that if you like moist cakes, this might not be for you.

We went there because we got a recommendation to try Overwinter. The Poptarts and Banana Nut bread that overwinter sold were so delicious (YOU HAVE TO TRY THESE POPTARTS) that I asked them how they were made and they told me they came from Fairy Cakes. So we drove right over there. (Please note, we were advised you'd have to go to overwinter to try the poptarts as they aren't sold in the Fairy Cakes shop.)

Shop is cute and quaint, the lady that served us was really kind and considerate. Just the quality of the cake and cupcakes are not to my taste. So still gonna rate a 4, but wanted to give people an honest headsup that this might be a niche style of cake making that most...

Two years ago, my wife and I (fiancé then) were looking at cakes and such. Our first actual tasting was here, though at the time, I was very "well, we have a few more places to look at first," and we left.

We're not a block away when I ask my wife what she thinks, and she chirps "cupcakes!" with a huge smile on her face. Soon as we got home, I called them back (estimated time: 1 hr from tasting to home), and we had cupcakes for our wedding (and the following three weeks as well).

Wedding cakes are an art in and of themselves, but I seriously push anyone looking (or for any other sort of occasion, or if your just want a cupcake) to come here. Prices are reasonable for bulk/weddings, and every step was professional and knowledgeable.

My wife and I are celebrating our two-year anniversary this year, and I'm actually writing this while killing time to go buy our annual cupcakes from this marvelous bakery.

Update : Still married, and my wife and I still go here for annual (or more so) cupcakes. They're still awesome, amazing staff, and they have macarons...

From start to finish Fairy Cakes impressed us every step of the way! Kelly was our contact and she was amazing! So attentive, so helpful and always a joy to work with. We met with her and she offered us many ideas, suggestions and guidance on creating the perfect dessert table; one with variety, cohesiveness and the appropriate amount for our number of guests. When we arrived at the reception, I was speechless! The table was perfection! The wedding decor was black and white and every dessert, every stand and every detail complimented the modern, yet classic theme. The Fairy Cakes creations did not just look amazing, but they tasted incredible. There was not one guest that did not comment on the artistry of both the tablescape, and just as important, the yumminess of every single treat.
