IKE & BG'S RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Buffalo

So I heard about this place on the radio 93.7 and happened to be in the area and was hungry. Btw I’m from Erie Pennsylvania. So I go in look at the menu and see that they have bbq chicken dinners I was extremely happy to see that cause that’s wat I was in the mood for. So I get my order mentally prepared. I also had a guest with me and he was excited that there was catfish so I he was dead on about the catfish. Boom decisions were made and I walked to the counter to place the order. The young lady who took the order wasn’t very friendly but any who. I proceeded to go on with my order. Of course the first thing I said I wanted they were out of. BBQ chicken dinner. Ok cool no biggie. I opt out for bbq chicken wing dinner with 2 sides which decided on was green beans and yams. Fast forward I get to where I’m ready to enjoy my meal which smelled so delicious btw and I’m EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I open my container and to my surprise there’s no bbq on my wings strike one. Second strike the green beans 🤢🤢🤢 barf I think they captured some of the grill smoke and put it in the pan with the beans and warmed the up. No season no meat and no potatoes. Wat are green beans without potatoes🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ now that I think about it I kno it was liquid smoke that they poured in and mixed the beans with. Third strike the yams🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 yams are supposed to be cut up parboiled and cooked with brown sugar regular sugar butter a pinch of cinnamon and maybe a lil bit of nutmeg and vanilla extract. These were straight out the can and drenched with syrup and cinnamon. I wish that I could give ZERO stars that food was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. And I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND EATING...

I ordered a slab of ribs with no sauce. When placing the order i specifically asked that they not b chopped up (I wanted the full slab with no sauce so i could really taste the smoked meat) After paying for my order and the bag being placed on the counter, i said to the girl, these should not b chopped up. She looked at me with attitude in her eyes n went to talk to someone in the back chopping the ribs. She came back and told me it would b at least 30 more minutes if i wanted one full slab. Not having the time or patience to wait any longer I begrudgingly took the chopped up ribs originally given to me. After getting home, i opened the medium size black container and found a bunch of burnt ribs. OMG. I paid over $30 for burnt up no flavor ribs. They were horrible!!! I was so disappointed because they actually smelled good. (I could not smell the fact that they were burnt) The cole slaw that came with the ribs was inedible!! Shredded cabbage with a dab of mayo n relish wont cut it. Sad to say they wont get my money ever again!!! I love to support small black businesses, but in order to get me back in there, they...

I have been driving by this resturant for years without stopping. I would see the cook during all four seasons cooking his meats outside. It wasn’t until I saw them on TV talking about expansion did I decide to give them a play. And boy I’m glad I did. I called first to order a whole slab of ribs, Mac and cheese and the beautiful young lady on the telephone said it would be ready in 10 mins. Couldn’t ask for a better outcome. I was glad because they took my credit card which made it easy for me. The ribs were ready. And oh boy were they ready. The were cooked to perfection with a great taste. The mack and cheese were delicious as were the fresh cold slaw. The Mack and cheese should have been a little bigger but I can live with this or make my own. Overall I give them 5 stars. The young lady on the phone was very professional and extremely courteous. I will always ask for her.i see why they want to expand. Spread the love ❤️ and great food all over Buffalo.
