Mike's Steak House — Restaurant in Buffalo

It's been awhile since I had a good steak sandwich, and I haven't been to Mike's in years, so I decided to hed back. Actually, the last couple of times I was there I was ordering from the African side of the menu, which is no longer available, I think. The steak sandwich was cool, but the bar has been set so high in Buffalo. If you've had Scotty's, then Rick's, then the original Shy's, then you know a good steak sandwich. I would probably get it again because it's an option in the neighborhood, but it's not something I will crave. The bread was super fresh though, which is the start of a good sandwich. I'll be back to try the wings, and to see what else I can get so I can start supporting them again. The fries were on the weak side though, which is becoming the norm so I won't hold it against them in the review. These type of fries shouldn't be bagged right away, because the steam takes away any crispiness they had. SO OVERALL, the steak sandwich wasn't the best, but it definitely wasn't the worse! Ate at this place for the first time in over 10 years. I used to love the Philly cheesesteak, I thought this time it was good but not as flavorful as it was in the past, in addition it had quite a few pieces of gristle that were not edible. The wings which were recommended as delicious were the biggest letdown, very little flavor, not crispy and last but not least in my opinion do one thing well and do not b like the rest. I ordered cheese fries which tasted awful. There was mist likely melted American cheese in them which caused the fries to clump together . The cheese was only on a few fries and they were not crunchy at all. The value was very good as it was around $25 dollars for the cheesesteak, fries and chicken wings. I wish I could give 50 stars. The food were great and the place was comfy, and the workers there are the jewels. Honestly, it was one of my worst day in these years when I went there. I was hungry, sleepy, extremely sad, and unimaginably disappointed about myself. I just went out of home to chill out. First chose another place but it did not have a place to seat. So, I ended up here. The owner was extremely friendly, the food is tasty but those people are the best aspect of this place. I am not sure how it happened but I felt much better after my food. I hope everyone just goes to this place for their good food and in their best mood ;but if one day you feel bad about yourself, go there I hope they help you too....
