Sweets Lounge and Restaurant — Restaurant in Buffalo

I tried Sweets Lounge for the first time yesterday. If I could break up this rating into parts they’d definitely get 5 stars for their customer service and for my food being hot. The ladies who were working when I picked up my food were very friendly and I always appreciate my food being hot!! The atmosphere was decent, they had the club lights going and the music bumping. Definitely would go back to dance and get my sip on.

My order consisted of:

Plain chicken wings w/ rice and gravy Smothered pork chops w/ mac & cheese and rice and gravy Lemon pepper haddock w/mac & cheese and green beans

The wings and the haddock dinner SLAPPED!! Those were my favorite items and I would absolutely order them again. The wings were hot, crispy, and oh so juicy! The next time I go I’ll have to try them with a sauce. Generally, I never order fried fish because I always feel like it’s going to be soggy, but I took a chance and these ladies did not disappoint!! The haddock was also crispy, juicy, and seasoned very well! I was mad impressed with that! Whoever’s in the back making the mac & cheese kudos to them because the mac & cheese was great! You can taste the cheese blend and the seasoning. It was great!

The areas of opportunity, for me, would be the rice, the gravy, and the green beans. The rice was good, I still smashed it😅, just a little overcooked. I’d suggest a rice cooker, it’s going to have your rice perfect every time!

They gravy complimented the rice pretty well and it tasted like they made it from scratch, which I give them credit for because that’s not easy to do. My only issues with the gravy was it was slightly salty, mad thick, and it kinda had a flour taste to it. It was the same gravy that was used on my smothered pork chops which brought it down a little for me but next time I’ll try the fried ones. On the plus side, the rice didn’t seem to have any extra seasoning so it balanced out the gravy.

Personally, I enjoy and prefer fresh green beans over canned ones and I can always spot the canned ones. The green beans were canned and doctored up so they were salty too. The had a nice hot sauce flavor though.

Overall, this is a good restaurant and they have good food. I definitely will go back and try their other menu items. Sorry I didn’t add anything pictures… again I...

I don’t leave reviews to tear businesses down, but to share real experiences—and I have no reason to get on here and lie about mine. Unfortunately, my order from Sweets Lounge & Restaurant was disappointing.

I ordered a steak hoagie, and what I received was underwhelming. The bread was soggy, the sandwich only had onions with no cheese, banana peppers, or homemade sauce as described. It lacked flavor and quality. On top of that, I ordered a 5-piece chicken finger and only received 3 pieces. Accuracy and consistency are just as important as taste, and both fell short here.

I want to be the voice for three groups of people: those considering trying this place, those who already have, and those who may have spoken up before only to receive a negative response. If criticism is met with dismissal instead of accountability, it’s hard to believe serious improvements will ever be made.

I support Black-owned businesses and genuinely want to see them thrive, but quality, customer care, and respect for the customer’s experience can’t be compromised. I hope this review is taken as constructive feedback and a reminder that presentation, consistency, and flavor are the keys to growth...

Gave it a 3 because I've had a few hiccups with ordering. Asked for extra crispy and it wasn't crispy so I asked for it to be dropped longer. Then I asked for greens and yams they gave me Mac and yams I do not like the Mac and i was at work so couldn't return it so i just sold it to someone at work. Gave another chance after a double at work i didn't feel like cooking ordered a extra crispy fish dinner on a Friday night tonight. The person who took my order didnt offer me the buy one one get one deal that was running. I over heard her taking another order where she offered it and I asked if I could pay the difference because she didn't offer it to me and the cook im assuming refused stated I should have ordered it from The beginning even though the waiter said it was her fault she forgot to ask me. So I get to my car open it up taste the yams and all my sides tasted like they made them in a smoker 🤢 and the fish was half the size it normally is. now im sleepy and starving.
