I had been coming to Tony's since my late teens, when the original owners operated it; I am now 45. Unfortunatly the son did not want to take over and sold it. It has been sold a few times since and each time it gets worse.
Veggie sandwich was my wifes go to. It has fallen so short in terms of flavor, she no longer asks for it or anything else from here.
Tony Special: My go to. Bread can be stale and hard at times. Never enough dressing or mayo/mustard. So now I have old bread with not enough mayo/must/ dressing to moisten it up. At over $12 for a sandwich, this is very upsetting
The real reason I stopped coming here....THE SERVICE! God all mighty the service is horrible. I remember back in the day, each employee would get involved writing down your order to speed you on your way Then the cashier would ring you up once your sandwich was done being made. Now the owners want to be in control of both and it gums up the time of service. People have 30 min lunches. THIRTY! I am not wasting my time waiting for the guy in front of me to take forever to make a selection while I'm on the clock. I've tried calling but the phone service is horrible. Or, I would place the phone order and it wouldn't be done in time for my pick-up.
I have taken my business elsewhere which is saddening. Hopefully someone who cares about what this review says will make the corrections to better serve...
Read moreVery disappointing eggplant parm sandwich. Never again
Edit to answer the questions: I got it to do so by the time I realized it wasn't very good I was across town.
It had no flavor, very bland.
Final response:
I'm kind of dumbfounded that you felt the need to explain how an eggplant parm sandwich might be soggy when transported across town before being eaten when my complaint was that the sandwich was BLAND and TASTELESS.
That is the most condescending thing I've seen in awhile. Perhaps you can also explain how I should chew as well?
I am saddened to hear that you believe you executed correctly the day I tried the sandwich and confirmed that your recipe was properly followed. This means that anyone purchasing the sandwich can be assured it will also be bland...
Read moreDefinitely my TOP choice for sandwiches in the local area. The one thing that sets them apart is the way they cut the bread when making your order. Bread gets cut twice making for a double layer serving of your choice of meat. Some like the BBQ chicken sandwich works out perfectly with the double layer cut having the middle bread section getting all the juices and flavor (See pictures I attached ) As far as the location itself, the place is small, there are maybe less than 10 small tables, the ordering area is very narrow and long and the menu is a very familiar style as most deli/sandwich places. They have a home, old style kinda feel to it. Non of this corporate store kind of stuff. Absolutely worth...
