I would’ve given Sotta zero stars for this review but that option isn’t available. I arrived early to pick up my order and it wasn’t ready yet (understandably.) Then my pick up time came and went still with no order. ONE hour went by and the full order still wasn’t ready. In fact, I had to leave and send someone back for the remainder. When I inquired after my pickup time passed, I was told it was being bagged and would be up shortly. Fast forward to someone bringing out a partial rendition of my order and throwing it out on the table in front of me. It was a large order so I asked that a member of their staff go through it to ensure it was complete. They brushed me off and after awhile of waiting I started checking it myself. They have the names that go with each order right in their system (it printed right out on the receipt.) However, they refused to label them or even help me sort it out. Now a clear 45 minutes after the order was supposed to be finished, they have the audacity to tell ME to hurry up because “the quality of the food was going down.” As I frantically attempted to sort and label this order, the manager sat at a table unwilling to help and multiple members of their wait staff took breaks RIGHT beside where I was doing the restaurant’s job for them. The food in the end was alright but certainly not anywhere near worth this atrocious customer service or complete waste of my time. They took my $650 and offered no actual help. In fact I had ask for the bags that the order had allegedly already been placed in. There are waaaay too many other Mediterranean restaurants in the area to put up with this. Do yourself a favor and choose a...
Read moreI normally write rave reviews for local restaurants— this IS NOT one of them. I highly recommend going to other establishments that serve similar food (I list some at the end).
We had ordered Postmates delivery from them once, and it came with a little card asking us to order delivery directly from them next time because Postmates charges the restaurants so much. Totally fair.
So the next time we wanted delivery, we called. Instead of being normal and having someone available to take orders per Sotta’s own request, a message comes up asking you to order through their website. I like to support local businesses, so fine.
Their site uses some skeezy bargain-bin ordering site. I’m not sure that my credit card info was encrypted, which is a giant red flag. Also, the private policy said they can sell data from cookies, browser history, and geolocation. In VIOLATION OF CA LAW, I was not allowed to proactively opt out of this third party’s collection of my personal data. Super sketchy and probably illegal operation they use.
My wife got horrendous FOOD POISONING from the chicken. She was moaning all night, fevers, chills, stuck in the bathroom because Sotta’s food was full of giant bacteria colonies. From the rancid chicken that they sell to their customers.
The best restaurant for this type of food in Burbank is ALEPPO GRILL. Second best I’d say is ADANA, and honestly ZANKOU is better. Even RAFO’S is superior. And I’m sure there are others.
We jumped thru hoops for them and this is what we got.
Don’t let them steal your information and sell you...
Read moreOverall this place is good but not the best. The chicken kabob is their best dish and it is delicious. They have great coffees and the atmosphere is chill. However, if your looking at great Mediterranean food they could use some improvement . My gf and I went to Sotta for dinner last night and she ordered the gyro with a Greek salad and I ordered the lamb loin chop. When the order arrived the gyro was not really a gyro at all. We expected the shaved thin slices of meat in the Greek pita bread that’s usually a gyro. There should also be tzatziki sauce. This was simply just their chicken kabob wrapped in a pita bread. My GF said it tasted like a tahini sauce inside. I looked at the menu and saw a chicken kabob wrap and thought maybe they gave her a kabob wrap. We asked an employee if this was the gyro and he stated it was and there has been miscommunication when people order the gyro believing it would be like we described ( a real gyro.. lol) The Greek salad was small and missing olives. A Greek salad should have olives. The lamb loin chops were ok. We were going to get a dessert but we observed an employee take out the desserts, use glass cleaner to clean the window case and use the same dirty gloves to place the desserts back in the display. We decided not to buy the desserts or the coffee. If you just want chicken kabobs, again it is delicious. If you want other dishes there are better choices for about...
